The bar chart illustrates the data of exports of different categories from 2015 to 2016 in particular country. The table gives the information of change in percentage in every category of exports in 2016 then in 2015.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify two important features: petroleum products are the largest export category, and textiles show the greatest percentage change. However, several figures and trends are misreported, which limits the accuracy of the summary. For example, petroleum is about $61 billion in 2015 and $63 billion in 2016, not above $70 billion and then $74 billion; engineered goods are about $57 billion and $62 billion, not $67 billion and $72 billion. Textiles rise from about $26 billion to $31 billion, rather than crossing $40 billion. The overview is also brief and does not clearly summarise the overall pattern. Check the chart values carefully and give a concise overview of the main increases and the fall in gems and jewellery.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, a short overview, and paragraphs describing the chart and table. Sequencing words such as “Secondly,” “Thirdly,” and “At the end” help the reader follow the categories. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the overview is separated into two short statements rather than developed into a clear summary of the main patterns. The final paragraph repeats the percentage figures already introduced, while links between the chart values and the table are limited. Grouping the main increases together, then contrasting them with the decline in gems and jewellery, would create a clearer progression. Use linking phrases selectively and make sure each paragraph has a distinct purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “decrease,” and “rapid increase,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the data of exports,” “on just abone than,” and “shows the highest change.” There are also spelling errors, including “petroluem,” which reduce precision. For a chart summary, use standard expressions such as “export earnings stood at,” “rose to,” and “recorded the largest percentage increase.” Varying these reporting verbs and choosing precise terms for rises, falls, and stability would make the description clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the main meaning is usually recoverable. However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make the comparisons difficult to interpret. Examples include “The textiles the highest change,” which lacks a verb, and “The petroleum products shows,” where the subject and verb do not agree. Phrases such as “in 2016 then in 2015” also create an unclear comparison, while “Agriculture products did not show the a large difference” contains article and noun-form problems. Build accurate basic sentences first, checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and comparative structures. Then add more varied sentence forms while keeping each comparison grammatically complete.
