Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This bhar chart demonstrates the values of export of a country in different sectors in time interval which ranges from 2015 and 2016. The change of percentages in each sector is compared in both years.
It is clear that, export product catgory is divided in five major categories. The petroleum product is most dominating in the chart. The percentage change in values ([redacted phone]) is also showing the level of increase or decrease in each category.
Initially, the petroleum product is recorded at 60 billion$ in 2015, but the share of petroleum slightly grew to 73 billion$ with 3% increase in 2016. However, the second dominated product engineered goods stood at 58 billion$ in 2015, while minimal change of 5 billion$ is seen in 2016 and revenue reached at 72 billion$ with 8.5% increase. Moreover, gems and jewellery fell a little bit from 52 billion$ to 50 billion$ with 5.18% fall. After that, the agricultural products remained stabel at 40 billion$. Finally, the textiles which was at its lowest in 2015 (35 billion$), but it rose upto 15.24% in the next year and reached 43 billion$ in 2016.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the five categories and refer to the percentage-change table, but the report contains substantial inaccuracies in the key figures and trends, which limits how fully it reports the visual. For example, petroleum is given as rising from 60 to 73 billion dollars, whereas the chart shows approximately 61 to 63; engineered goods are reported as reaching 72, rather than about 62. Gems and jewellery are described as falling from 52 to 50, instead of roughly 43 to 41, and textiles are given as 35 to 43 rather than about 26 to 31. The overview also calls petroleum dominant but does not clearly summarise the main pattern across categories. Check each figure against the chart and distinguish percentage change from export value.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a brief overview, and a sequence of details for the five categories. Linking expressions such as “Initially,” “Moreover,” “After that,” and “Finally” help the reader follow the order. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the overview does not clearly group the main comparisons before the detailed figures. Some connections are also unclear: “minimal change of 5 billion$ is seen in 2016” does not explain what changed, while “Finally, the textiles which was…” leaves the sentence structure incomplete. Organise the body around increases and decreases, and use clearer references to connect each value with its year and category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage change,” “dominating,” “remained stable,” and “fell,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, spelling and word-choice problems reduce precision: “bhar chart” and “catgory” are misspelled, “share” is not the best term for export earnings, and “second dominated product” is an unnatural phrase. “Minimal change of 5 billion$” is also unclear because it does not specify whether this is a difference or a value. Use standard terms such as “bar chart,” “export value,” “second-highest category,” and “increased by approximately…” Check spelling and choose collocations that describe the data directly; this will make the report more accurate and easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to use both simple and more complex sentences, including contrast with “but” and “while,” and most of the intended meaning can be followed. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “the textiles which was at its lowest in 2015, but it rose…” combines a relative clause with a separate clause awkwardly; write “Textiles were the lowest-valued category in 2015, but their value rose…”. The opening phrase “in time interval which ranges from 2015 and 2016” has an incorrect relative construction and preposition. Articles and sentence patterns are also inconsistent, as in “the petroleum product is most dominating.” Practise accurate comparisons and complete clauses while retaining the range of sentence forms you are attempting.
