Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main categories and recognise that gems and jewellery declined, while textiles rose notably. However, the response reports several figures inaccurately or unclearly: the chart is in billions of dollars, not percentages, and textiles rose from about $26 billion to $31 billion, not to $40 billion. The overview’s claim that all categories increased except gems is also questionable because agricultural exports were approximately unchanged, despite the table showing a very small percentage rise. Most importantly, the table discussion stops mid-sentence, so its key comparisons are not reported. The response addresses the task only minimally, and it is also 17 words below the required minimum. Include a complete overview and accurate comparisons for both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs about the chart and table. The sequence from the bar chart to the table is signalled by “Turning towards table,” and “In contrast” helps mark a comparison. However, progression is difficult to follow because several statements are vague or contradictory, such as “all the export comparetively increased” followed by the unclear description of agricultural products. The final sentence, “textile percentage surged by,” is unfinished, leaving the response without a complete ending or a clear account of the table. Use one paragraph for the overview, group related chart comparisons logically, and complete the table summary with clear linking and reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “declined,” “climbed markedly,” “surged,” and “in contrast,” which helps communicate broad trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “export comparetively increased,” “Textile percentage dominates in,” and “Commence from” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “petrolum,” “surhed,” and “Agriculturel” also reduce precision. In addition, “60%” and “more than 30% to 40%” misuse percentage language for values shown in billions of dollars. Build a more accurate set of trend phrases and use the chart’s units consistently, for example, “export value” and “rose from approximately $26 billion to $31 billion.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “Overall, all the export comparetively increased in 2016 except gems and jewellery” and a contrast clause beginning “however.” There is also some control of simple past forms, as in “declined.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, and these errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. “In 2015 they were 60% and it went upward in 2015 at more than 60%” has unclear pronoun reference and repeats the year; “Agriculturel products showed minor grew” has an incorrect grammatical form; and the final phrase “textile percentage surged by” is unfinished. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, and proofread each sentence for completeness.
