Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the chart and table and mention several relevant changes, including the 3% rise in petroleum, the 8.5% rise in engineered goods, and the 15.24% increase in textiles. However, the account is incomplete and contains a key contradiction: you say agricultural products increased slightly, then conclude that two categories fell, although the table indicates only gems and jewellery declined. The overview also does not compare export values or identify the highest and lowest categories. The response is 131 words, below the required 150, which limits the detail provided. To improve, give a clear overview of the main patterns and support it with accurate comparisons of the chart’s values as well as the table’s percentage changes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and using “overall” and “further more” to connect points. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the first paragraph describes the axes, the next lists changes, and the final overview repeats and contradicts earlier information. The two uses of “overall” do not introduce a clear, consistent summary, and links such as “As Gems and jewellery faced a small decrease inconstrast Agricultural products shows a little increase” make the relationship between ideas hard to track. Use distinct paragraphs for the introduction, overview, and detailed comparisons, and group categories by whether they rose or fell. Check that each linking phrase accurately expresses the relationship between the data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant terms, including “percentage change,” “exports,” “increased,” and “decrease,” so the reader can recognise the topic. However, the vocabulary is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “export alter” and “surge upto,” while “significantly increased” overstates relatively modest changes. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “illustratres,” “hoizental,” and “reults,” which reduce clarity. Aim for precise chart language such as “export earnings,” “rose by,” “remained stable,” and “recorded the largest increase.” Use category names consistently and avoid describing a change as significant unless the figures support that emphasis.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some longer sentences, for example, “As Gems and jewellery faced a small decrease inconstrast Agricultural products shows a little increase,” but control is weak and the relationships between clauses are often unclear. Errors include missing or incorrect articles and prepositions in “at 2015 and 2016,” agreement and tense problems in “Agricultural products shows,” and faulty sentence construction in “the other one with increase of 8.5%.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas or full stops. Most sentences require the reader to infer the intended structure. Practise writing short, complete comparisons first, then combine them with accurate contrast clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
