Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You provide a relevant overview, identifying petroleum as the leading category and gems and jewellery as the one that declined. However, several key figures and trends are misreported, which limits the accuracy of the summary. The percentage changes for petroleum and engineered goods are reversed: petroleum rose by 3%, while engineered goods increased by 8.5%. Textiles rose from about $26 billion to $31 billion, not from $6 billion to $30 billion, and the table shows a 15.24% increase. Agricultural exports were approximately stable at $31 billion, despite the table’s small 0.81% rise. To strengthen the response, check each chart value against the table and make the overview’s comparisons precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the main categories. Sequencing expressions such as “Overall,” “By contrast,” and “Finally” help guide the reader, and the comparisons are generally grouped sensibly. This meets the lower-band expectation of a coherent arrangement and shows some of the stronger progression expected above it. However, links between figures and their explanations are occasionally unclear, particularly where the percentage changes are assigned to the wrong categories. The final paragraph also introduces textiles without clearly relating its 2015 value to the earlier overview that textiles were lowest. Use more precise references and ensure each paragraph develops a consistent comparison between the two years.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “percentage changes,” “increased,” “fell,” and “remained,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “second largest export category.” However, the range is limited and several spelling errors are conspicuous, including “expoert,” “petrolum,” “genrated,” and “textlies.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “showing almost no change to their export changes” and “one country’s smaller export categories.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Proofread spelling carefully and choose standard collocations such as “export value remained stable” and “among the country’s smaller export categories.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a complex overview with “whereas” and contrastive sentences beginning “By contrast” and “Despite the growth.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity, and complex constructions are not consistently controlled. For example, “the petrolum products genrated the highest export earning the both years” has problems with articles, number, and sentence structure; “decreased of 5.18%” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern; and “in the both years” is also inaccurate. Punctuation and spacing around commas and percentages are inconsistent. Practise accurate comparative patterns, such as “rose from X to Y, an increase of Z%,” and check articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries.
