Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main categories and give an overview that petroleum and engineered goods are the leading exports, while most categories rise and gems and jewellery falls. However, several reported figures do not match the chart: for example, engineered goods are about $57 billion in 2015 and $62 billion in 2016, not $68–72 billion; textiles are about $26–31 billion, not $36–41 billion. The petroleum and agricultural values are also overstated. In addition, the table gives a 5.18% fall for gems and jewellery, not 5.81%. These inaccuracies weaken the comparisons, and the claim that other products contribute little is imprecise. Select the key trends and check each figure against the visual.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a brief overview, then paragraphs covering the bar-chart values and percentage changes. This makes the information generally easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “similarly,” and “While” help connect points, although “Furthermore” is repeated and some transitions feel mechanical. The comparison paragraph also moves through several categories in quick succession, with limited grouping or contrast. For stronger progression, organise the details into clear groups—for example, the two highest-value categories, then the remaining categories—and use concise comparisons to show how their values changed. Ensure each paragraph has a distinct purpose and avoid repeating the same linking word.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “export value,” “percentage,” “increase,” “decline,” and “highest,” so the main comparisons are understandable. There is some range in how you describe change, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “export earning” would be more naturally expressed as “export earnings,” and “contribute little in export revenue” is not a precise description of the chart. Spelling errors such as “agricultar” and “Unluckyly,” along with inconsistent forms such as “Engineered good,” reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional phrases such as “exported goods were valued at” and “recorded a rise/fall.” Check spelling and use consistent category names throughout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “While the Gems and jewellery shows decline…” and a comparison introduced by “similarly.” The meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Major export value was of…” has an awkward sentence structure, and “the Gems and jewellery shows decline” has subject–verb and article problems. The sentence beginning “Furthermore, also provide information…” lacks a clear subject and verb. There are also issues with number and units in phrases such as “41 billions dollar.” Use complete clauses, check singular and plural agreement, and keep units in a consistent form, such as “$41 billion.” More accurate sentence patterns would make your comparisons clearer.
