Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the chart’s subject and mention several relevant features, including petroleum products as the leading export category and textiles as having the largest percentage change. However, the overview is unclear and some comparisons are inaccurate: the chart shows petroleum at about $61–63 billion, not “65% to 60%,” and textiles at about $26–31 billion, not “35% to 42%.” The table’s percentage figures are mostly reported correctly, but the response does not clearly summarise the main changes across the categories. The required minimum of 150 words is not met; the response is 147 words, with copied prompt wording excluded. To improve, give a concise, accurate overview and compare the key rises and fall using the chart’s units.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into paragraphs, and phrases such as “In terms of” and “Regarding that” signal a move between points. However, the ideas are not arranged in a clear progression: the second paragraph mixes an overview with category rankings, while the third gives figures that are difficult to interpret and does not connect them clearly to the table. The final paragraph lists percentages without explaining how they relate to the bar-chart values. Repeated use of “in the table chart” and “at the same time” also makes the linking mechanical rather than helpful. A clearer structure would be an introduction, an overview of the main trends, then a paragraph comparing the bar-chart figures and one reporting the percentage changes.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “petroleum products,” and “Gems and jewellery,” so the reader can recognise the topic. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the report difficult to follow, such as “billiions export earnings,” “the highest billion,” and “theh textiles.” “Table chart” is repeated and is not a natural way to distinguish the table from the bar chart. Some category names are also inconsistently expressed, for example “Engineer goods” and “Engineered good.” Use precise terms such as “export value,” “rose,” “fell,” and “percentage change,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts longer sentences and uses basic comparison patterns, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently obscure the intended meaning. For example, “The bar chart compare” has subject–verb disagreement, while “during 2015 and 2016 compared with 2016” gives an incorrect comparison period. The sentence beginning “In terms of the table chart” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and phrases such as “in 65% to 60%” do not form a clear comparison. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent. Build accurate simple sentences first—for example, “Petroleum exports rose from about $61 billion to $63 billion”—then add a limited number of correctly formed complex sentences to show range.
