Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important directions correctly: petroleum and engineered goods rise, gems and jewellery fall, and textiles increase. However, the account is only partly accurate and the main features are not clearly prioritised. For example, you say petroleum rises from 65 to nearly 70 billion, whereas the chart shows about 61 to 63 billion; you also describe textiles as rising from 40 to 50 billion, rather than approximately 26 to 31 billion. The agricultural figure is essentially stable at about 31 billion, not clearly increased. Your overview lists trends but misses the key comparison that petroleum is the largest export in both years and textiles show the strongest percentage growth. Use the chart values carefully and distinguish absolute values from percentage changes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, a summary of trends, and further details about selected categories. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “On the other hand” attempt to connect contrasting information. However, progression is not consistently clear: the second paragraph repeats the trend summary, while the later details move between categories without a clear comparison or grouping. “And the last product” is an informal, mechanical transition, and the relationship between the graph’s values and the table’s percentages is sometimes difficult to follow. Organise the response into a concise overview followed by paragraphs that group the largest categories and the remaining categories, using clear references to both years.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “billion,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “different strategies” for product categories, “the product grows,” and “the percentage the differance.” Spelling errors are also frequent, including “repidlay,” “agricultuer,” and “jewellary,” which reduce clarity and control. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully. Useful expressions include “export earnings,” “rose from … to …,” “remained stable,” and “recorded the largest percentage increase.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand,” but the range is limited and complex constructions are often faulty. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms appear in examples such as “The graph belows represnts” and “the agricultural products increses a liltle amount.” Agreement and tense are also inconsistent: “gems and jewellery are decreased” should use a simple past form, while “its in 2016 its value” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Articles, possessives, and punctuation are not controlled consistently, making some sentences hard to follow. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build longer sentences from a clear subject, verb, and comparison.
