Student answer (Band 5.0)
The role of women has had a significance spot in many societies over the last five decades. Still these societies cannot agree to have developed gender equality. In my opinion, gender equality is about the rights rather than roles. Many women till date struggle to get basic rights.
Firstly, women are the foundation of mankind. For example, mothers, sisters, wives, and female friends they all play an important role towards polishing a boy and turing him into a man. Women are scientifically clam and better with emotional intelligence. For instance, in rough times men are known for being hot headed and this might ruin a situation, hence sometimes women should be given the authority to take actions rather than men.
Secondly, men and women with gender equality might have its drawbacks. Simply some women like taking care of their families and not working professionaly. So opposing gender equality on them might not be a good approach. Such claims can raise serious issues in workplace for women. From the very start of human life men have been the breadwinner of their household, so it is difficult for the societies and people to accept that women are their equals.
In conculsion, I believe the sole meaning of gender equality is not that doing whatever men are doing, its the equal rights, justice and respect that should be equal between any gender. Many women struggle with jobs, are harassed in their on home and workplace, and the entitlement of not questing men for their wrong doings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant view that equality concerns rights, justice and respect rather than requiring women to adopt every role traditionally held by men. The points about women’s choices to care for family and continuing harassment also relate to the topic. However, the response only partially answers whether societies have achieved equality: it does not clearly assess the extent of change over the past 50 years, and the position shifts between supporting equality and discussing possible drawbacks without resolving that tension. Several claims, such as women being “better with emotional intelligence,” are broad and not supported with specific evidence. Develop a consistent judgement and explain how examples demonstrate persistent inequality or progress.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the response. However, the ideas do not progress consistently toward a clear argument. The first body paragraph focuses on women’s influence and emotional qualities, while the second shifts to family choices and traditional breadwinning; the connection between these points and the question of whether equality has been achieved is not always made explicit. Some links are also unclear, particularly “So opposing gender equality on them,” where the intended relationship is difficult to follow. Organise each paragraph around one reason supporting your position, then use clear explanations and examples to connect it to the central question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “basic rights,” “breadwinner,” “harassed” and “authority,” which gives the response a relevant vocabulary base. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several choices or collocations are inaccurate and sometimes make the meaning unclear: “a significance spot,” “polishing a boy,” and “the entitlement of not questing men” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “turing,” “clam,” “professionaly” and “conculsion” are noticeable. Aim for precise, conventional phrasing and check spelling carefully; for example, describe women as “playing a significant role” and refer to “challenging men’s misconduct” rather than using unclear wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “this might ruin a situation” and a concluding contrast between equality and “doing whatever men are doing.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine clauses often contain errors that make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “mothers, sisters, wives, and female friends they all play” joins clauses without suitable punctuation, while “men and women with gender equality might have its drawbacks” has unclear agreement and sentence structure. Other problems include “Many women till date struggle” and “harassed in their on home,” where grammatical forms and sentence construction are faulty. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check agreement, articles, and clause boundaries.
