Student answer (Band 5.5)
The status if woemn has chnaged a significant amount in the past 50 years however many socitities cannot claim to have gender equality. i partially disagree with this statement as woemn have have had a great chnage in these socities and that no society can claim to have achueved gender equalty, in the passage below i will talk about my views and oppnions on this matter.
On the other hand, soe mordern countures have almost reaced full euqaltiy, an example like nordic countires like sweeden, men and women have the same rightsin everyday life. Both genders go to universities and get good jobs at similar rates, also women get long perental eave along with father so women dont lose teir jobs when they have babies. in these places saying that eqaltiy is not achieved, is not fair it beacuse the sstem is very balaned.
on the other hand true equaltiy is still missing in most parts of the world. Even in rich countires, Women often get paid less than men for doing the same job, which is known as the gender pay gap. there are also very few fmale bosses in big companies. At home,m woemn are expected to do most of the cooking, cleaning, and looking after childern, because of these old ideas, women find it hard to fix thie careers, showing that real euqlaity is still fully not here.
to sum up the struggle of womens rights is not fished globally, however i think that it is worng to say that np country has achieved it, as some nations are very close while some are very far.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the extent of gender equality. You present a clear position, arguing that while progress has been made, true equality remains elusive in many parts of the world. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of Nordic countries versus the global gender pay gap. However, the development is somewhat limited; the points could be expanded with more depth or specific analysis to reach a higher band. The introduction is slightly confusing due to the phrasing of your disagreement, which makes your stance initially unclear. To improve, ensure your thesis statement is concise and directly answers the 'to what extent' question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'to sum up' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by punctuation errors and awkward phrasing, such as the transition into the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these places') is always clear and precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'gender pay gap' and 'parental leave'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'woemn', 'chnaged', 'socitities', 'achueved', 'euqaltiy', and 'thie'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distracting. To improve, you should focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips. While you attempt to use some relevant vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and the consistent spelling issues prevent a higher score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical inaccuracies and punctuation errors, such as the run-on sentence in the introduction and the misuse of commas. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'the status if woemn', 'the struggle of womens rights'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and punctuation rules, and try to incorporate more varied complex structures with greater accuracy.
