Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many people believe that women position has changed over the 50 years, and it is great deal. I completely agree with this statement, because women have great ability to do work in every filed of life. This essay will explain my opinion with relevant examples.

To begin with, one of the main reason is that women power increase gradually day by day. This is because, female shows the quality of work and improve herself in every field. For example, Pakistan first prime minister also a one woman, and woman position is changed is a good deal because woman can do everything like men do. We can see that in every field, women have the own position like ,medical, police, politician. As a result, societies get success more and more rather than past.

Another crucial reason is that, the gender equality still exit in the era. For instance, most of the company give the less salary compare with men, and give less important in leadership. Women have very limit seat in leadership compared with men. Furthermore, Woman also complete the duty at the house. They complete their duty to take care of children, and doing all the household chors in daily routine, like make the food, clean the home, and wash the clothes. Plenty of society still face the career restriction for the woman. Our backward area still face the issues with women eduction, and work.

In conclusion, I completely agree the position of women had changed is a great deal, I believe this trend will become even more vital in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the change in women's position and the lack of full gender equality. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide examples like the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the gender pay gap, the arguments are often under-developed or repetitive. For instance, the paragraph regarding household chores is somewhat tangential to the core argument about societal gender equality. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported point that directly answers the 'to what extent' aspect of the prompt. Your position is clear, but the supporting evidence needs more depth and academic tone to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'one of the main reason is that' (should be plural 'reasons') and 'as a result' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'women have the own position like, medical, police, politician'. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good deal', 'do work', and 'field'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'women power increase' instead of 'women's empowerment' and 'backward area' instead of 'underdeveloped regions'. Spelling errors, such as 'filed' for 'field' and 'chors' for 'chores', also occur. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form and context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('female shows' instead of 'females show'), article usage ('the Pakistan first prime minister'), and awkward phrasing ('women position has changed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
