Student answer (Band 5.5)

Women is the pillar of any successful home which then lead a society to its better development. There is no denied in the change of women position has been changed in many of the societies from last 50 years. However, these societies don't want to claim that it has achieved gender equality. I partially agree with this view and I will prove this in the following essay.

In this era, we can see women are working in different field and positions. In any company, there are few seats which are reserved only for women and this thing can't be seen in the past working field. Now, society is giving equal chance to women to work in the same environment of men. For example, In news channels, most of the worker are women which is not possible in the past but now it is. Furthermore, there are many other sector of jobs are available around us, where we can see that women are getting their own rights more than ever before and they are free to do anything.

In any society, it can't be seen openly but women free to speak on any argument but still there are few people who think that women are not free to do anything and there is no gender equality but it is quite opposite to this view. Some of the women also think this way but they are welcome to any field and place to take part in.

In conclusion to this, even though women are becoming more educated and they are getting more opportunities also. For instance, there are few people who don't believe that women are on equal footing with men, but instead they are the same page with men in corner of the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt but lacks depth in its development. While you state a position, the arguments provided are somewhat repetitive and lack specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the claim that 'women are free to do anything' is an over-generalisation that lacks nuance. The essay would benefit from exploring specific barriers to equality, such as the gender pay gap or domestic responsibilities, rather than making broad, unsupported assertions. The conclusion is also somewhat confusing, as it contradicts the earlier points by suggesting women are already on the 'same page' as men, which weakens your overall argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. Transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or confusing, such as the phrase 'In conclusion to this' which does not effectively signal a summary. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second and third paragraphs where the connection between the examples and the main argument is weak. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, they are not always used accurately, which occasionally disrupts the logical progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'different field and positions' and 'do anything', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'There is no denied in the change' (should be 'There is no denying the change') and 'same page with men in corner of the world'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terminology would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Women is the pillar', 'most of the worker are women') and incorrect article usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors indicate a lack of control over basic grammar. To improve, focus on ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that plurals are used correctly. More complex structures are attempted, but they often contain errors that detract from the overall quality of the writing.
