Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the last five decades, the position of women in society has improved significantly but no drastic change has occurred, as a result of which gender equality is yet unaccomplished. I partially agree with the statement as there are myriad of professional field where women are doing extraordinary work due to the given equal rights as men. This essay will discuss both the viewpoints by giving appropriate reasons.
One of the major changes that can be observed is number of women who are independent, doing job or have their own business, it is far more larger than the earlier times. Females are getting recognition at the international level for performing remarkably. Today's woman is fearless, taking risks, unapologetic and what not. For instance, Mary Kom has performed excellent in weight-lifting game in Olympics and made her country proud. Apart from this, women cricket team of India has shown their talent brilliantly at Worldcup match in 2020.
However, even after proving their potential, some societies demean and think less of them. Although they are respected in outside world, few family members do not value their efforts. For instance, woman has to cook food and take care of child even after surviving a hectic day at work while a man only do rest and subjected to redemption in such cases. Moreover, female actresses are paid less than their co-male actors, merely because of gender.
To recapitulate, I believe that, to some extent equality has come but government needs to work hard to aware people about the important role of women in lives. Both genders should be equally treated for the development of any nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both the progress made and the remaining challenges regarding gender equality. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph provides examples like Mary Kom, the explanation of the 'double burden' in the second paragraph is a bit brief and could have been expanded with more depth to fully explore the societal implications. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the supporting arguments lack the level of detail required for a higher band score. The conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance and provides a relevant suggestion for future progress.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the major changes', 'Apart from this', and 'However', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow could be smoother. For example, the sentence 'Today's woman is fearless, taking risks, unapologetic and what not' is a bit informal and disrupts the academic tone. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the logical structure is sufficient to maintain coherence throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use a range of vocabulary, such as 'myriad', 'extraordinary', and 'unapologetic'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'weight-lifting game' (instead of 'sport' or 'event') and 'subjected to redemption' (which is misused in this context). The phrase 'and what not' is too informal for an academic essay. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the lack of precision and the occasional inappropriate register prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'there are myriad of professional field' (should be 'myriads of professional fields'), 'it is far more larger' (double comparative), and 'a man only do rest' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and missing articles throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparative adjectives.
