Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the progress made in gender equality while arguing that full equality has not been reached. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The historical comparison is somewhat confused (referencing '1900s or 1800s' as 'twenty centuries' ago), and the supporting evidence, such as the '70% of women' statistic, lacks clear context or source credibility. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. While the position is clear, the supporting points are often under-developed or rely on vague generalizations, which limits the depth of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'To elaborate' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final sentence where 'not decloped with generation' is difficult to interpret. The flow between sentences is often disjointed, making it challenging for the reader to follow the argument's development smoothly throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'involvement of females... chnaged from the past half decade' (likely meaning 'half a century') and 'not decloped with generation'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'feminism' when referring to patriarchal structures. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'socities', 'devlop', 'hundered') indicate a restricted lexical range that struggles to express complex ideas accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('few socities had not been claimed'), incorrect verb tenses ('does not been growed'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are often simple or contain run-on errors, such as the opening sentence. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are frequently marred by errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods throughout the text.
