Student answer (Band 5.5)

The role of female has sparked considerable discussion in recent years. Although some believe women got better opportunities in the world, others argue that still they have not achieved gender equality. I largely agree with that women's position in society achieved considerable change in past years, and this essay will explain why.

The primary reason for my agreement is career success of the women. For instant mostly in the past women stay at home and take care of the children and household rather than doing a job but in the modern world women play a significant role in the cooperate world. Considerable number of women run their own business or work under large companies over the world. This demonstrates that women achieved success in career life while taking care of the family without being a housewife.

Another compelling argument is that women leadership. In the world many countries are ruling by female leaders. For example, Italy's wise president is Ms. Melani not only as the country leader's females are working as organization leaders as well. Popular organizations are having female CEOs. There are widely spread women leadership programs to support women to be independent. worldwide Hilton hotels provide women leadership program to all female employees. This clearly indicates that female role in the society has significant changes when compared to the past.

In conclusion, I firmly agree that women's position has significantly change over the period due to the changes happened in cooperate world and women in leadership.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt but fails to fully explore the nuance of the question. While you agree that the position of women has changed, you do not sufficiently address the second part of the prompt: whether societies can claim to have achieved gender equality. The essay focuses almost exclusively on progress, ignoring the 'but' in the prompt which suggests that equality is still lacking. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of your arguments. To improve, ensure you address all parts of the prompt equally and provide a more balanced discussion that acknowledges the remaining challenges to gender equality.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason for my agreement' and 'Another compelling argument'. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the discussion of female leaders and the Hilton hotel example. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated transitions between sentences to improve the flow of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'considerable discussion', 'compelling argument', and 'independent'. However, there are several word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'cooperate world' (likely meaning 'corporate world'), 'For instant' (should be 'For instance'), and 'country leader's females'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your ability to convey precise meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on using more accurate collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'women got better opportunities', 'women leadership', and 'many countries are ruling by female leaders' (should be 'are ruled by'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these grammatical slips prevents the writing from being considered error-free. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, as these are recurring issues in your writing.
