Student answer (Band 6.0)

From the past five decades, the level of women has significantly altered in several nations. However, they are facing challenges to accept that the consequences of this have led them to gender equality. It is some perplexing concept that is quite demanding to swallow in this contemporary society. I strongly agree with this assumption. This essay will elucidate the causes of this output before my own perspective.

There are a substantial number of reasons for this issue. First and foremost, this culture has unnecessarily raised the value of men in this era. They are considered superior to women without any solid reason. On the contrary, women face a plethora of hardships to attain the respect of society. They have to earn the respect that men are born with. They have to come across derogatory comments regarding their personality from individuals. To illustrate, girls are considered fragile as they assume they are emotional. Although they are resilient and deserve an equal position in this world.

Secondly, the world has an inaccurate definition of feminism.

Especially men believe that this means having women rule the world against their will. In contrast, this means having the same rules and regulation for not only men but also women.

As a result, this misconception has led the world in patriarchy.

Today, almost all men are turning into misogynists. Moreover, they considered women to be misandrists. Lastly, gender equality is quite a lot to be grasped undemandingly.

I am of the view that we should spread awareness concerning these terms as their misguidance can lead to war among genders. The policy makers should be held responsible for those crises. They should imply numerous laws to prevent jeopardy to their survival.

To sum up, the modification of women's position in any field solely is not surely advantageous. We should aware citizens that this issue is not just an argument but a debate that can cause profound impact on this world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph provides some reasoning regarding societal expectations, the second paragraph on feminism is less clear and relies on generalizations about 'all men' and 'misogynists' that lack nuance. The essay would benefit from more concrete examples or evidence to support the claim that gender equality remains elusive. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and introduces new, slightly confusing ideas about 'war among genders' and 'policy makers' that were not fully explored in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost', 'On the contrary', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced, such as the sudden shift to the definition of feminism. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the relationship between the 'misconception' and the resulting 'patriarchy' is not fully explained. Overall, the progression of ideas is generally coherent but lacks a smooth, sophisticated flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated terms like 'perplexing', 'resilient', 'derogatory', and 'misogynists'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice or collocation errors, such as 'level of women' instead of 'status of women', 'grasp undemandingly', and 'imply numerous laws' (should be 'implement'). These errors occasionally impede the precision of the argument. While the student demonstrates a decent vocabulary, more careful attention to collocations and word forms is needed to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, such as 'From the past five decades' (should be 'Over the past five decades'), 'It is some perplexing concept' (should be 'a'), and 'We should aware citizens' (should be 'make citizens aware'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentence fragments and awkward phrasing occur. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to indicate a lack of full control over complex structures.
