Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the progress made in gender equality while arguing that full equality has not been reached. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide examples like women becoming doctors or engineers, the explanation of why inequality persists is somewhat repetitive and relies on generalizations about 'men's jobs' and 'house chores.' To improve, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and deeper analysis of the societal structures that prevent equality, rather than listing roles or repeating the idea that men are preferred for certain positions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'Initating with points' or 'Moving further ahead.' There are also issues with punctuation, particularly the frequent misuse of commas and spacing, which disrupts the flow of ideas. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good' and 'many,' and there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'engenerie' for engineering, 'scientest' for scientist, 'beleive' for believe). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precise, academic vocabulary prevents a higher score. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to gender studies or sociology and focus on accurate spelling of common professional terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'women position changed,' 'many manes doing their work'), incorrect verb forms ('they can going to work'), and pluralization ('many womens'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of articles, plural forms, and correct verb tenses before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
