Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the recent years, gender equality has become a controversial issue. Women has been contributing to develop societies, but still don't get equal rights as men. This essay will explore the position of women in many societies and suggest how we can make our societies better.
Gender equality is not the only thing that societies cannot claim to have achieved, but also they don't want to see reality. Women play a vital role in every one's life, as we have seen many great individuals lead the world in different fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, containing only 90 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. The essay fails to develop a clear position or provide the necessary supporting arguments and examples required for an Academic Task 2 response. The introduction is present, but the body paragraphs are severely underdeveloped, preventing a full exploration of the prompt. To improve, you must ensure you meet the minimum length requirement and provide detailed, well-supported arguments for each point raised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is too short to demonstrate a clear logical progression or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt to structure the response with an introduction and a body paragraph, the lack of content makes it difficult to assess the use of cohesive devices. The transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. To improve, focus on developing each idea into a full paragraph with clear topic sentences and logical links between your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as the phrase 'contributing to develop societies'. There is little evidence of a range of vocabulary that would allow for precise expression of ideas. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited length restricts your ability to demonstrate a wider lexical range. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to social issues and gender dynamics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are several grammatical errors in the text, such as 'Women has been contributing' (subject-verb agreement) and 'every one's life' (incorrect spacing). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the lack of length prevents the demonstration of a wide range of complex structures. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and expanding your repertoire of complex sentence forms, such as using relative clauses or conditional structures.
