Student answer (Band 5.5)
In 21st Century most of womens have became more powerful than men in worldwide. In past 50 years society has changed a lot. During these years most of societies womens has started focusing on education more than house hold works. In past society in control by mens, they did not give any chance to educate the womens. But when changing the political backgrounds in countries womens get a chance to Educate them selfs.
With time parents understand the value of education and they are started to get their girl educated. As a result of that womens became more educated. As a example womens became presidents of countries they ruled the country. In sri Lanka sirimawo bandaranayaka is the first women who ruled the country after that lots of womens encouraged and now in parliment there are more than 25% womens.
If we checked past years ordinary level and advanced level results pass presenatge is higher in womens and also if we consider university admissions most of are womens. Now days most of higher level exececutives are womens in private sector and government sector.
But in 2026 also some societies not accept womens equality with mens. Some countries they did not give premision to go to schools and get higher studies. In those socities they consider womens are for only house hold works and they have to only raise childrens. Some times they consider giving birth to girls is a crime because they always wish for boys and they think girls are burden to society.
Not in every county and every society but today also it happens in some societies.
But according to my point I think both men and women has equal chance to be educated and be independent. Now days there is a trend to be a independent women and they think it is there victory to be a independent women and be strong in financially.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the progress of women's rights and acknowledging that inequality persists. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples like Sirimavo Bandaranaike and mention educational statistics, the analysis lacks depth. The claim that women are 'more powerful than men' in the 21st century is a broad generalization that is not sufficiently supported or nuanced. To improve, ensure that your arguments are balanced and that you explore the 'extent' of your agreement more thoroughly, rather than simply listing observations. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between them is weak. The transition between the progress made and the remaining inequalities is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive (e.g., 'In past', 'Now days', 'Some times') or used incorrectly, which makes the flow feel mechanical. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks clear topic sentences that guide the reader through your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a singular, well-developed focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'womens' (instead of 'women'), 'house hold works' (instead of 'household chores'), and 'pass presenatge' (instead of 'pass rate'). You rely on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic language. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on accurate spelling, correct pluralization, and using more precise academic terminology to express your ideas. The current level of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general meaning, but it lacks the precision required for higher scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
Grammatical control is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of womens have became', 'society has changed'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors that occasionally impede readability. For example, 'In past society in control by mens' is grammatically incorrect and difficult to parse. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and plural forms, before attempting more complex structures. The frequent errors in basic grammar significantly impact the overall quality of the writing.
