The status of women has evolved immensely since 50 years ago. However, some people believe that there exist a gender biased society. Currently both men and women have equal rights in life and are treated the same in a society.
It can be noted that, earlier women were restricted to learn, to take up high positions in jobs and also had no rights to give their opinions in the society. Nowadays, ladies have come forward in different walks of life like sports, science, agriculture, engineering and medicine. Over the years women acquiredmany rights which were primarily reserved only for men.For example , in the year 2017, the parliament of India raised the number of woman legislative members from 10 percent to 33 percent of its total seats.
In modern times, women are competent to so multi-tasking.They take care of the family by doing all household chores and also financially support by being a working member. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but fails to fully develop a clear position. While you acknowledge the evolution of women's status, you do not sufficiently address the second part of the prompt regarding why societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. The argument is somewhat contradictory, as you state women have equal rights while also mentioning gender bias. Furthermore, the essay is 245 words, which is below the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length impacts the depth of your analysis, leading to a penalty in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as in the transition 'In modern times, women are competent to so multi-tasking.' Referencing is generally clear, but the logical flow between the conclusion and the body paragraphs is weak. The final sentence is a fragment rather than a complete thought, which disrupts the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'evolved', 'competent', and 'renowned'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'gender biased society' (should be 'gender-biased society') and 'bring up the participation' (should be 'increase' or 'boost'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score as they show a lack of precision in more complex contexts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'there exist a gender biased society' (subject-verb agreement), 'restricted to learn' (should be 'restricted from learning'), and 'competent to so multi-tasking' (incorrect preposition and verb usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas in several places. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score.
