Student answer (Band 5.5)

The position of women has changed significantly in many societies over the last 50 years. I agree that women position has changed greatly , but these societies completely not achieved gender equality.

Women position has improved greatly in last 50 years mainly in education , different jobs sectors and many women children improve to go to schools and colleagues, in recent years women has a lot of opportunities in every sectors . For instance , jobs in different sectors, many reservations for women and women seats in buses, also toilets separate for women in public places. As a result, in these days women has high opportunities it is better for society a women has high responsibility.

Another important reason is that in many countries still gender equality is not improved like no opportunities, no jobs for women and no safety at public places and household responsibility because in many areas society cannot achieved equality for women. For example, no jobs in society, underage marriages, household responsibility only for women, and also no safety at public places like bus and railway stations, women ragging in colleagues and others. Consequently, still gender equality is not achieved in present society mainly safety and women ragging.

In conclusion, i completely agree with position of women has changed rapidly in many societies over the last 50 years and still improving in my countries year by year, but gender equality is not fully achieved in society mainly in safety , not opportunities in every sector and household responsibility finally if these will have been changed inn future may be gender equality is better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the progress made by women and the lack of full gender equality. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide examples such as education and safety, the arguments are often presented as lists rather than fully explored points. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence lacks depth and academic structure. To improve, focus on expanding each point with a clear explanation of 'why' or 'how' rather than just stating the situation. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a strong summary of the main arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'For instance' and 'Consequently', but they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'if these will have been changed inn future'. The flow between sentences is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and a lack of varied linking words. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'many', and 'jobs', and there is frequent repetition of phrases like 'gender equality' and 'in many societies'. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'women ragging' (which is unclear) and 'colleagues' (likely meaning 'colleges'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to social issues and ensure that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'women has', 'society cannot achieved') and article usage. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when you attempt complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces placed incorrectly before commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentences have a clear subject, verb, and object. Practising the correct use of tenses and avoiding run-on sentences will help you achieve a higher score.
