Student answer (Band 6.0)
From past 50 years, the growth in position of women has changed in many region of the world. But some people think that there is still discrimination between men and women in many areas of life. I largely agree with this perspective as women are sometimes judged just from their gender rather than their abilities and skills.
As women are growing in every profession such as medical, engineering, entrepreneurs and many more, women are still seen as a weaker gender in many societies. To elaborate, females are considered to be very vulnerable and emotional and many people take advantage of that things and suppress them from their growth. For example, in many professional field, employers prefer to hire man because of just their basic mindset about the man can do it better just because they have been doing this work since ages and women are in capable of doing certain jobs and they are not prioritized.
Secondly, in many regions there is still gender inequality, where female child is not prioritized in their own family. Sometimes in these culture girl child is consider to work at house and boy child is to be studied and work outside, this mindset is great epitome of discrimination in two genders. Moreover, there has been awareness about this topic a lot but in many societies they still don't consider girl child to be a greatest blessing. As a result, women has also started following this partiarcy because they have faced and accepted this situation and throwing this mentality to further generations.
However, there are lot of women growing professionally and in many more areas and people have started to respect that. These has also changed many societies perspective and motivated them to have an understanding about that women are not weaker gender and making them equal will not harm anyone but will make a change in society and their mindset.
To conclude, as this generation has grown and evolved a lot, and women are also doing great in many fields. There are some people who will not able to achieve the sense of gender equality and won't let women grow.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding professional discrimination and domestic inequality. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the point about the 'girl child' is relevant but could be more effectively linked to the broader societal context rather than just family dynamics. While the ideas are clear, some arguments lack depth or specific evidence, relying on generalisations. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more nuanced exploration of the topic, moving beyond general observations to more analytical insights.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'To conclude', to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as in the transition between the second and third paragraphs. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother to ensure that the argument builds more effectively toward your conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'discrimination', 'vulnerable', 'epitome', and 'patriarchy'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'throwing this mentality' (instead of 'passing on'), 'in capable of' (instead of 'incapable of'), and 'doing this work since ages'. These errors occasionally draw attention to the language, though they do not impede overall communication. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('women has also started', 'girl child is consider') and article usage ('in many professional field', 'the man can do it'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly clunky due to these grammatical slips. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and pluralisation would significantly improve your accuracy.
