Student answer (Band 4.5)

Over the years, women has made a strong stand for themselves and has became a pioneer of several community. But it is nearly not enough to say equal when it is come to gender equlity. I strongly agree with this statement.

Because same people still believing in patriarchy. Also, the underage female child marriage is still exists in every society though it is illeg.

It is a mindset going on for centuries now. People still assume that women are less than a man as for many years they are the sole provider in household.

Underage female marriage has been happening for decades now. It mostly happens in underdevoloped countries where people are struggling with poverty and less likely educated. They keep taking child wishing a son as they see male child as a support of their future and female as a burden.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The student attempts to address the prompt by expressing a clear position agreeing with the statement that gender equality has not been achieved. However, the response is severely underdeveloped and falls well short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 142 words. The arguments regarding patriarchy and underage female marriage are introduced but lack proper extension, elaboration, and supporting evidence. Because the length requirement is not met and the ideas are extremely limited, this performance falls within the Band 4 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the overall structure lacks coherent progression. Sentences are frequently disjointed, such as starting a sentence with 'Because same people still believing in patriarchy.' Logical transitions between ideas are weak, and cohesive devices are either absent or misused. Paragraphing is also erratic, with single-sentence paragraphs disrupting the flow of the writing. These issues align closely with Band 4 descriptors, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally strain the reader's understanding. Examples include 'equlity', 'underdevoloped', and awkward collocations like 'say equal when it is come to'. The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary such as 'patriarchy' and 'sole provider', but overall, the lexical range is narrow and insufficient to convey precise meaning. This corresponds to Band 5, as the vocabulary is limited and includes errors that impact clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the text. There are frequent basic errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('women has made', 'women are less than a man as... they are'), tense inconsistencies ('has became'), and incomplete or fragmented sentences ('Because same people still believing in patriarchy'). The range of sentence structures is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and faulty complex forms. These persistent errors make the text difficult to follow at times, fitting the Band 4 descriptor.
