Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether gender equality has been achieved, taking a partially agreed position. However, the task achievement is hindered significantly by the word count falling below the 250-word minimum, halting at 242 words, which incurs a penalty. While the writer touches upon both sides of the argument—noting advancements in women's roles in various sectors such as politics and education, alongside cultural barriers—the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The attempt to cite WHO data is overly vague, stating 'the 70 % of women was working in different companies on top position', which lacks clarity and precision. Consequently, the development of ideas remains limited, resulting in a band score of 4.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The text is organized into basic paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor sentence structure and weak cohesive devices. Transitions such as 'apart from all these' and 'besides' are used awkwardly or inaccurately. Furthermore, referencing is often unclear, particularly in the final sentence 'both are same, it is cdeo', which abruptly cuts off and breaks down any sense of coherence. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical flow is impaired by run-on sentences and a lack of clear signposting, leading to a band score of 4.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent errors in word choice, morphology, and collocation. Examples include 'inner strangth of woman is admire the peoples of societies', 'position of women can change', and 'different arya'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'dedication', 'confidance', and 'prime minister', but these are undermined by severe spelling and grammatical form mistakes like 'confidance' and 'strangth'. The range is strictly limited and inadequate for expressing precise academic concepts, constraining the lexical score to a 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or poorly constructed compound/complex attempts that contain frequent, glaring errors. There are major issues with subject-verb agreement ('the woman is', 'women are being able'), tense consistency, and missing articles. Run-on sentences are prevalent, joined incorrectly by commas rather than conjunctions or full stops, such as 'today the women are being able to do the job in different sectors as like a man, however, some pople think...'. These persistent errors frequently cause strain and confusion for the reader, justifying a band score of 4.0.
