Student answer (Band 6.0)
Over the last 5 decades, the position of women has changed a great deal in many societies. But these societies still cannot claim to have a gender equality. I agree with that the womens place in many societies has changed a great deal. But still these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality.
Firstly, in the last 5 decades, the female empowerment make a clear equality in gender. Women helps men in all feild of lifes. Moreover, legal reforms in the countries also granted rights to women like right to vote, having ownership of land and get higher education. Women now comprise a major portion of the global workforce and excel in historically male-dominated fields such as medicine, law, and engineering. These milestones demonstrate that the social trajectory of women has advanced considerably.
Second, societal expectations surrounding unpaid care work remain unbalanced. Even when women work full-time hours, they statistically bear a disproportionate burden of domestic chores and child-rearing—a phenomenon often referred to as the "second shift." This double burden limits their career progression and perpetuates traditional gender roles that view women primarily as caregivers rather than equal partners in every sphere.
In conclusion, although the past 50 years have brought substantial progress toward female empowerment, full gender equality remains an unrealized goal. Until systemic workplace discrimination is eliminated and domestic responsibilities are shared equally, societies cannot genuinely claim to have reached total gender equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the extent to which women's changing position equates to gender equality, presenting a clear position and supporting arguments. The writer considers both the advancements made over the past 50 years and the ongoing societal imbalances like the 'second shift'. However, the response has a significant drawback regarding length: it contains 236 words, which falls below the strict 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length issue directly impacts task fulfillment and must be penalised under Task Achievement. Additionally, the introduction features repetitive phrasing ('I agree with that the womens place in many societies has changed a great deal. But still these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality'), which detracts from the overall development of ideas. Consequently, a Band 5.5 is appropriate for this criterion, reflecting the partial limitation caused by word count and some repetitive formulation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs addressing female empowerment and domestic workloads, followed by a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, there are instances of mechanical transitions and poor referencing. For instance, 'Second,' should ideally be 'Secondly' to maintain parallel structure with 'Firstly', and the opening sentences contain redundant repetitions. Paragraph transitions are somewhat abrupt due to the repetitive restatement of the prompt in the introduction. Despite these lapses, the logical progression is mostly maintained throughout the body paragraphs, earning a solid Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating less common lexical items such as 'female empowerment', 'legal reforms', 'disproportionate burden', 'second shift', and 'career progression'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations that prevent a higher score. For example, the writer uses 'the female empowerment make a clear equality' instead of 'creates clear equality' or 'achieves gender parity', and writes 'feild of lifes' containing a spelling error and unnatural phrasing. The possessive form 'womens place' lacks an apostrophe. Because the vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey meaning despite these errors and occasional spelling slips, the writing aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures such as concessive clauses ('Even when women work full-time hours, they statistically bear...') and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Women helps men in all feild of lifes', 'female empowerment make'), article misuse ('get higher education' instead of 'obtaining higher education', 'have a gender equality' instead of 'have gender equality'), and prepositional slips. Punctuation is generally acceptable, and while these errors do not severely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the score from reaching Band 6.5. A Band 6.0 is justified for a mix of complex structures accompanied by persistent grammatical errors.
