Student answer (Band 5.0)

The position of women has changed in many societies over 5 decades. However, these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. This essay will cover both view, I completely agree that societies cannot claim gender equality.

On the one hand, people believe that women are now in every field of work. Women are doing their best in their offices, works. So, societies should have to claim gender equality. This is because, nowadays, women are working in every field like marketing, modeling, analyst and etc. They are good at leading team, politics. For example, in Pakistan , Prime Minister is lady, who's name is maryam nawaz sharif. Moreover, she is doing great in politics. There's a lot of example, where women are working well. Furthermore, societies still don't give them value as they have to. Communities don't agree with the gender equality.

On the other hand, some people believe as women are growing in every society. However, they cannot do hard work. There are some of feild work where female are in minority. This is because of some feild work is very tough of females. For example, .women are in minority in some jobs like plumber, electrician. In labour work, women are not existed. That is the reason, socities are not achieveing to claim gender equality. They believe that men are born for hard works.

In conclusion, although womens are growing rapidly in societies work. However, I believe that there's a diiference between men and women. Because mens have to do hard works like labouring.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by discussing the extent to which gender equality has been achieved, presenting a clear position that complete equality has not been reached. The essay includes relevant ideas and examples, such as women working in various fields and political figures like Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan. However, some ideas are repetitive or under-developed, and the argument occasionally becomes confused, such as stating both that women are in every field and that they are not present in labor work. This places the performance firmly at Band 5.5, as it addresses the task and takes a position, but lacks fully extended and well-developed support across all body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response features basic paragraphing, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive devices. The writer uses standard transitional markers like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', but these are mishandled since both paragraphs essentially argue points supporting the lack of gender equality rather than presenting balanced opposing views. Referencing is also unclear at times, as seen with phrases like 'There's a lot of example'. This level of organisation and mechanical cohesion aligns with a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but limited in range. The student attempts some less common terms and subject-specific vocabulary such as 'marketing', 'modeling', 'analyst', 'plumber', and 'electrician'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'works' instead of 'workplaces', 'lady' instead of 'woman' or 'female politician', and repeated spelling and grammatical slips like 'feild' and 'socities'. Because these errors occur frequently and cause some distraction for the reader without completely impeding communication, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, and pluralisation, such as 'womens are growing', 'societies are not achieveing', 'mens have to do hard works', and 'who's name is'. Punctuation errors also appear, including unnecessary comma splices and stray punctuation marks. While the meaning can generally be deciphered, the frequency of basic grammatical errors places this response at Band 5.0, where frequent errors in complex attempts cause difficulty for the reader.
