Student answer (Band 5.5)

The position of women has changed in many societies over 5 decades. However, these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. This essay will cover both views, I completely agree that societies cannot claim gender equality.

On the one hand, people believe that women are now in every field of work. Women are doing their best in their offices, works. So, societies should claim gender equality. This is because, nowadays, women are working in every field like marketing, modeling, analysts and other areas. They are good at leading teams, politics. For example, in Pakistan, the Prime Minister is a lady, whose name is Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Moreover, she is doing great in politics. There's a lot of examples, where women are working well. Furthermore, societies still don't give them value as they have to. Communities don't agree with the gender equality.

On the other hand, some people believe as women are growing in every society. However, they cannot do hard work. There are some of feild works where female are in minorities. This is because of some feild works are very tough of females. For example, women are in minority in some jobs like plumber, electrician. In labour work, women are not existed. That is the reason, socities are not achieveing to claim gender equality. They believe that men are born for hard works.

In conclusion, although womens are growing rapidly in societies work. However, I believe that diiference between men and women. Because mens have to do hard works like labouring.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear position ('I completely agree that societies cannot claim gender equality'). However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the essay attempts to present two sides, the body paragraphs contain generalisations and minor factual inaccuracies, such as naming the Chief Minister of Punjab (Maryam Nawaz Sharif) as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Furthermore, the reasoning in the third paragraph regarding physical capability and traditional labour roles is somewhat contradictory to a balanced essay structure, yet it does support the student's stance that equality has not been achieved. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical arrangement. Paragraphing is attempted, although the body paragraphs are somewhat disjointed in their progression. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes mechanically or inappropriately, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' followed by arguments that both essentially support the student's agreement with the prompt, rather than presenting opposing views. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen with phrases like 'There's a lot of examples'. This level corresponds to a Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'gender equality', 'analysts', and 'minorities'. However, there are frequent lexical errors and odd word choices, including 'feild works', 'womens are growing', and 'societies are not achieveing'. Additionally, repetition of phrases like 'every field of work' and 'hard work' limits the precision and flexibility of the writing. These vocabulary slips and spelling errors occasionally strain the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense and agreement issues such as 'womens are growing', 'societies still don't give them value as they have to', and 'women are not existed'. Punctuation and sentence structures often lead to awkward phrasing, as in 'This is because of some feild works are very tough of females.' While simple sentences are generally understandable, errors in complex constructions frequently cause difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 5.0 descriptors.
