Student answer (Band 5.5)

Womens are taking positioon for great deal in many socities over the half century. but still societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. In my opinion i agree with this view because we see many people forcing to women to staying home.

First of all, we know men and women are equal because both are able to do same thing physically and mentally. Further more, from past few decades some womens are appearing in governemnt officials, hight level military force, and as well as in numurous technical fields. But many of women are working as a housewife because of rules and regulation of thieir family. for example, in Nepal 73% of women are unemployed. However, the mindset of all conservative family has woman responsibility is to take care of children and working in kitchen. Therefore, i believe in many societies women face discriminate by theirs famy because of her gender.

On the other hand, many societies have religional believe, such as if women go outside then family would face bad consequences as well as our god will be sad on us. Additionally, women are not allowed to go to school, because of their roles and responsibilities have set boundary. Whereas, woman can do only that things or work what has to assign. Therefore, there have been developed many legislation for gender equality but few were applied in actual society.

To conclude, gender is consider as equal in constitution or legislation but in real life there applied very few. Women have been forced to work in house rather than outside and cause of many wrong beliefs. Therefore, societies cannot claim to have achieved gender quality even women has changed a great deal in many societies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and presents a clear position agreeing that societies have not yet achieved gender equality. The ideas are relevant and supported with some explanation and examples, such as the mention of Nepal's employment statistics and traditional household roles. However, some ideas are under-developed or briefly stated, such as the discussion of religious beliefs in the third paragraph. The position is maintained throughout the essay, meeting the requirements for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical arrangement. Paragraphing is attempted appropriately, and cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Further more', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to structure the text. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes faulty or mechanical, and occasional errors in cohesion affect the overall flow. The progression of ideas is present, but mechanical linkage places this within the Band 6.0 descriptor.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'legislation', 'conservative', and 'unemployed'. However, there are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'positioon' for position, 'socities' for societies, 'governemnt' for government, 'hight' for high, 'numurous' for numerous, 'thieir' for their, 'discriminate' for discrimination, 'famy' for family, and 'religional' for regional/religious. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are numerous grammatical and punctuation mistakes, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Womens are', 'woman can do only that things'), article errors ('the mindset of all conservative family has woman responsibility'), and awkward phrasings ('forcing to women to staying home'). These errors are frequent and cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar score with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
