Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, containing only 180 words, which significantly limits the development of ideas. While the student attempts to address the prompt by discussing women's roles in various fields like politics, sports, and fashion, the discussion remains superficial and under-developed. The writer's position is somewhat contradictory and unclear at times, shifting between agreeing and disagreeing with the prompt without a cohesive argumentative thread. Due to the severe under-length nature of the essay and the lack of fully supported main ideas, this response aligns closely with the Band 4 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The overall organization is disjointed and lacks a clear, logical progression. The essay opens with an inappropriate title-like statement ("The position of women;") and uses erratic punctuation and capitalisation throughout. Although the writer attempts paragraphing and introduces a second paragraph with "First of all here i mensioned...", the transitions are mechanical and the internal flow of ideas is frequently disrupted. Referencing and cohesive devices are inadequate, making it difficult for the reader to follow a coherent argument. These features reflect the characteristics of a Band 4 performance for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student relies on simple everyday words and makes frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as "socities", "concidered", "critaria", "jimming", "fasion indutry", "mensioned", and "equaliy". There is very little attempt to incorporate less common lexical items, and those that are attempted are inaccurate in form or collocation. The lexical range is minimally adequate for basic communication, but errors and limitations clearly strain the reader, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting predominantly of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex structures. There are persistent, major errors in punctuation, capitalization, subject-verb agreement, and tense consistency (e.g., "she has involved", "she took part... jimming, acting skills.politics, like in fasion indutry"). Basic sentence boundaries are often ignored, and lowercase letters are frequently used at the beginning of sentences and for the pronoun "i". These frequent and severe errors frequently distort meaning and impede communication, placing the response at Band 4.
