Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is argued by many that status of women has changed a great deal in developed nations over the last five deceds however these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender pority. I completely agree with this statement because of many reasons which i will discuss in upcoming paragraphs.

In modren days, women have a better access to education as compare to before few deceds. many of women studied in good sction and achived a better jobs. for example, womens work in different jobs such as law, medical and teacher with good salary. as a result, they can achive their life goals.

Furthermore, greater participation in employment. women have a equal chance to work in jobs with mens rather than last deceds. Although, female have a less income in some jobs however they have a good oppurtunites to find job in many secoters where thay work wihout any gander inquilty. For instance, in india women work in high posts like manager, doctars and many other. therefore, it can healp to encorage women more to work with men.

In addition to this, females have a many rights which help to stay equal in society. they can work any where with equal oppurtunties, voice range and having buy their own property by own. Examplify, women work in many places and also a large part of politics. Consequently, they feel more satisfy with these laws.

In conclusion, i believe that better access to education is very benifical for everyone because it can healp every where.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that gender equality has not yet been achieved, supporting this with arguments concerning education, employment, and legal rights. However, the development is somewhat limited and repetitive. Ideas are introduced in the body paragraphs, such as access to education and employment opportunities, but they lack sufficient extension and deep analysis. Examples provided, such as women working as doctors or in politics in India, are relevant but stated rather than fully elaborated. The introduction outlines the writer's stance, but the conclusion is brief and does not effectively summarise the main points. Consequently, the response meets the core requirements of addressing all parts of the task, fitting the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptor range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a basic overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at organisation. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward referencing and mechanical cohesive devices, such as 'In modren days', 'In addition to this', and 'Examplify'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak. For instance, the second body paragraph jumps abruptly between education and employment without smooth transitions. Pronoun referencing is also occasionally unclear, and repetitive sentence openings create a disjointed reading experience. This aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic ideas about gender roles and equality. However, there are numerous spelling and word-form errors throughout the text, including 'deceds' (decades), 'pority' (parity), 'modren' (modern), 'sction' (section), 'achived' (achieved), 'womens' (women), 'secoters' (sectors), 'thay' (they), 'gander' (gender), 'inquilty' (inequality), 'doctars' (doctors), 'healp' (help), 'oppurtunties' (opportunities), 'Examplify' (For example), and 'benifical' (beneficial). These frequent errors in spelling and word choice often strain the reader, though meaning can generally still be understood, reflecting the Band 5 criteria.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'It is argued by many that status of women has changed...' and 'Although, female have a less income in some jobs however...'. However, control over grammar is weak, with frequent errors in articles, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Examples include missing articles ('status of women', 'better access to education'), incorrect plurals/singulars ('a many rights'), and flawed subordination ('Although, female have a less income... however they...'). Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect capitalization and comma splices. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and place the response firmly in the Band 5 category.
