Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era the power of women has changed significantly in this mordern society over the 5 decades. While the people in this society claims that they have not achieved gender equality. I strongly asscent with the statement. The compelling reason why I agree with pertinent examples will be elucidated in the following paragraphs.

Out of all the reasons why still women has not achieved gender equality, the predominant one state is preference to male gender. To explain this, it can be elaborated that in the society people usually prefer males rather than females at work because they believe that mens are more intelligent, bold, and effiecient towards their work, due to which in various job they does not give chance to female candidates and seclect male one, because they think that male employee would be more advantageous to them. As a result, it is evident that females does not get so much opportunities at workplaces.

Apart from that another major reason is old methodology. To exemplify this perspective, it can be argued that in this mordern civilisation some individuals have thinking that the main of women is their household chores, and working in a company as a employee is not good, and they also limit the education of girls, because of which girls did not get the rights and the equality boys have in the life. As a consiquence, due to old thinking women does not equally treated.

To recapitulate after analysing all the aforementioned ideas it can be inferred that the position of women does changed but due to male dominance and the orthodox thinking of the people, the socities cannot claim that they have achieved gender equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and presents a clear position throughout, strongly agreeing that gender equality has not been achieved. The ideas are relevant, focusing on societal preference for male workers and traditional views on women's roles in the household. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and lacks specific real-world examples or deeper elaboration, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level. For instance, the discussion on workplace preference states that 'males are more intelligent, bold, and efficient' without providing broader context or substantive support. To reach a higher band, the writer should extend arguments with more nuanced examples and avoid overly generalized assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognizable structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, fulfilling basic organizational requirements. However, progression is somewhat hindered by repetitive phrasing and a mechanical use of cohesive devices, such as 'To explain this, it can be elaborated that' and 'To exemplify this perspective, it can be argued that'. Paragraphing is utilized, though the second body paragraph groups distinct concepts together rather than breaking them down logically. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the concluding sentence where 'women has changed' causes a minor disruption in flow. Overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow, placing this comfortably in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'contemporary era' and 'predominant one state'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('mordern', 'asscent', 'effiecient', 'seclect', 'consiquence') and word-form issues ('the main of women' instead of 'the main role of women', 'does not equally treated') that detract from the precision of the writing. While communication is not severely impeded, these lexical slips and repetitions of basic terms ('society', 'women', 'males') demonstrate limitations in control, reflecting the descriptors for Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as in the opening sentence and conditional-style clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and tense consistency (e.g., 'women has not achieved', 'mens are', 'females does not get', 'women does changed'). Punctuation is also problematic, notably the fragment 'While the people in this society claims that they have not achieved gender equality. I strongly asscent...', which disrupts sentence boundaries. Because these errors occur frequently and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the writing aligns best with Band 5.
