Student answer (Band 5.0)
Although the position of women has changed over the past 5 decades but I can strongly say these societies have not yet acheived gender equality. Despite the progress women re facing variou kinds of problems and challenges in their personal and professional lives
In some families the women are about to do all the household work like cooking, cleaning, even when they are employed and well educated.
In some countries women are still not allowed the senior position like men do.
The women doing all the household work they don't get enough time for their carreer and professional life and due to this they lose a lot of opportunities.
For example I have seen in Iran a woman who sang a song without the hijab on the stage faced a serious punishment as she got beaten up infront everyone later by the government of Iran and I think this is not fair at all it maded my heart broke by hearing to this news.
Although the modern society is doing a great job and people's mind behaviours are changing for example the central Inspector in our area is a woman.
but full gender equality is yet to be achieved

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response attempts to address the prompt by expressing a clear position that gender equality has not yet been achieved. However, the task is only partially addressed due to severe under-length. The response contains only 198 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the ideas are under-developed and lack sufficient extension. While the writer mentions relevant points such as domestic burdens and professional limitations, these arguments remain superficial. The example involving Iran is quite specific, but overall, the development is limited by the word count restriction, leading to a penalty on this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an overall structure consisting of short, single-sentence paragraphs which disrupts logical progression and fails to use paragraphing effectively. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as using 'Although' paired with 'but' in the opening sentence. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas feels abrupt, as seen in the jump from domestic duties to international examples without clear signposting. While the essay does maintain a central topic, the lack of robust cohesive ties and poor paragraph structure constrain this section to a Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally strain comprehension, such as 'acheived' instead of achieved, 'variou' instead of various, and 'carreer' instead of career. The writer attempts some less common phrases like 'professional lives' and 'gender equality', but the overall range is limited. Words are sometimes misused or awkwardly collocated, such as 'madéd my heart broke by hearing to this news'. Despite these errors, the lexical range is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or faulty complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including punctuation omissions, run-on structures, and awkward phrasing such as 'the women are about to do all the household work' and 'women are still not allowed the senior position'. Missing articles and incorrect verb forms are also present. These errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate weak control over complex grammar, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
