Student answer (Band 5.0)

Position of women has changed a great deal in many societies over the past 50 years But these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality . Women plays an essential role in social , eoconomy , health and education which is consider as the pillar to build any nation . Apparently preparation of the next generation for the future is always a difficult task for the women but you cant totally impose those responsiblities on women .

Presence of women have increased sigficantly in education , hospital and many other departments. In most of school and hospital there are more women professional than male . In our society whenever we have to deal with the ill women we often prefers the women doctor .

As far as gender equality is concern mostly there is a myth that women donot earn the same amount as the men .It cannot be link with gender equality as it is define by multiple factors such as rate of return profit , skills and professional capabilities and time duration of the working hour . In corporate sector we only cares about the profit and those who knows how to generate it regardless of their gender .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt regarding gender equality, but it suffers from a major length penalty, containing only 201 words against the required 250-word minimum. Because of this, the ideas are under-developed and fail to explore the prompt fully. The writer attempts to present a position—suggesting that wage gaps are due to factors other than discrimination—however, this argument is overly simplistic and lacks sufficient extension and supporting examples. For instance, the statement that 'in corporate sector we only cares about the profit' is asserted rather than proven. Furthermore, the response is cut short, leaving the argument incomplete. Consequently, the task achievement is limited by the strict word count deficiency.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic organization, but overall cohesion is faulty and mechanical. Paragraphing is attempted, but the paragraphs are brief and lack internal logical progression. For example, the second paragraph abruptly shifts from the presence of women in education and hospitals to 'whenever we have to deal with the ill women we often prefers the women doctor', which disrupts the flow. Cohesive devices are minimal or inaccurate, with awkward transitions like 'As far as gender equality is concern' and repetitive referencing ('women... women... women'). There is no clear overall progression of ideas, pulling the score down into the lower-middle range.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repeatedly strained by spelling and word-choice errors. The student attempts some less common items such as 'sigficantly' (significantly), 'eoconomy' (economy), and 'capabilities', but inaccurate spelling and word formation occur throughout the text (e.g., 'concern' instead of 'concerned', 'prefer' instead of 'prefer'). Collocations are also weak, such as 'deal with the ill women'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic topic about women and employment, frequent lexical inaccuracies and repetition restrict the score to a band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and flawed complex sentences. There are frequent, noticeable errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'Women plays an essential role', 'In most of school', and 'the women doctor'. Punctuation is also problematic, evident in missing capital letters, missing full stops, and spaces before punctuation marks (e.g., 'equality .'). While some basic sentence forms are constructed correctly, the high frequency of grammatical slips impedes smooth reading and demonstrates poor control over complex structures.
