Student answer (Band 5.0)
It has been a long debate whether the women status has changed significantly during the last five decades. Nevertheless, still these communities never accept gender equality. I partially agree with this statement, educated people support gender equality.
As time have been changed quitely, since past due to lack of education, societies segregate women. However, now individuals become educated and promote equality. In the every field of medical, engineering, politics, science and technology, females work equally as men. In many developed countries, like Japan, China and America etc where governments provide education and protection for girls. Moreover, institutes teach completely about sex education, as a result nowaday women run the offices as well as with the house.
On the other hand, in some rural areas where still gender inequality promotes, owing to lack of education resources and inappropriate rape cases. n undeveloped countries, institutions never teach girls about sex educationI so, rape cases acounted every a minute , so people become afraid about the protection of girl.
To sum up, i partially agree, in many developed countries women position same as men due to higher education, while in some undeveloped countries gender inequality supported due to crime cases as well as insufficient education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether gender equality has been achieved, presenting a clear partial position. However, the task achievement is significantly undermined by the severe length penalty, as the response contains only 201 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum. While ideas regarding education, employment, and societal challenges are introduced—such as women working in engineering and politics, alongside references to rural areas and safety concerns—these points remain underdeveloped and lack sufficient elaboration. The reasoning tends to over-generalize and jumps quickly between points without fully exploring the implications of the prompt. Consequently, this falls under Band 5, where the task is addressed only partially, ideas are limited, and the under-length requirement prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text exhibits basic organizational structure with clear paragraphing, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different sides of the argument, and a conclusion. However, overall progression is hindered by choppy sentences and mechanical cohesive devices like 'Nevertheless', 'However', and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in abrupt shifts between ideas, and some sentences lack logical connections. For example, the transition between discussing sex education and women running offices is disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty and repetitive, aligning the response with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'the women status', 'communities never accept', 'time have been changed quitely', and 'rape cases acounted every a minute'. While the student attempts less common vocabulary such as 'gender equality', 'undeveloped countries', and 'institutions', frequent inaccuracies in form and phrasing restrict the lexical range. Spelling and word-form errors are recurrent, such as 'nowaday' and 'acounted', keeping the lexical resource at a Band 5 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex structures are faulty or awkwardly phrased. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('time have been changed', 'gender inequality promotes'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. Run-on sentences and fused clauses also appear, such as in the concluding sentence and within the body paragraphs. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, matching the profile for Band 5.
