Student answer (Band 6.0)
Gender equality is a great term to address as it involves the equality in every aspect of the life. The women who have brought immense revolution since 50 years in society still have to face inequalities at some moments due to which the society cannot be declared to have achieved the title of gender equality.
To initiate with, the women before 50 years were mere housewives with the ratio of almost 70% which has have declined to 50% currently that proves that women are progressing in their carriers. They have achieved not only on national basis but also internationally they are functioning. For instance, Mary kom who is well known boxer came from very remote place whose husband helped her pursue her carrer and managed kids, home so that she can focus on her games.
On the contrary, there are some household chores are designated for women only such as after coming from a job the cooking part was mandatory for women only along with the washing of dishes. Undoubtedly, society has advanced still in some area of life the mindset related to women has still not changed.
To recapitualte, no doubt women had progressed in every part of the work yet there are people with the same old orthodox mentality due to which this society cannot be addressed as fully gender equal. I agree to this statement to large extent that after 50 years also people and thier mindset regarding women have not changed after all the work she has done for nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the statement that complete gender equality has not yet been achieved. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the changing ratio of working women and the persistence of traditional household duties, meeting the requirements of this level. However, some ideas are under-developed or less fully explored than others. For example, the point about Mary Kom is introduced as an example of career progression, but its connection to broader societal gender equality is somewhat superficial and lacks full elaboration. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to extend and support all main arguments with deeper explanations and more comprehensive examples rather than relying on brief mentions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear central topic. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response into logical sections, starting with an introduction, moving to body paragraphs with contrasting points, and concluding with a summary of the writer's position. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Cohesive devices are used, but transitions between sentences can feel abrupt, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as the pronoun use and logical flow linking the example of Mary Kom to the main argument. To achieve a higher score, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the progression of ideas, ensuring seamless transitions between paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as "immense revolution" and "orthodox mentality." However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, including phrases like "address as it involves the equality in every aspect of the life," "carriers" instead of careers, and "recapitualte" as a spelling error. Despite these slips, communication is generally not impeded. To reach the next band, the writer needs to expand their lexical repertoire, improve precision in word choice, and eliminate spelling and word-form errors by using less common vocabulary with greater awareness of style and collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like relative clauses and conditional-style reasoning. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as tense inconsistencies ("the women before 50 years were... with the ratio of almost 70% which has have declined"), article misuse ("the cooking part"), and preposition errors. Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication and the meaning remains clear throughout. To move towards a higher band, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures and reduce the frequency of grammatical slips, aiming for a higher proportion of error-free sentences.
