Student answer (Band 5.5)
Women has gained many opportunities in society over the past 5 decades. However gender equality still does not exist in societies and communities.
However this subject requires further analysis.
Present day women has acquired more rights and opportunites in every aspects of life just like men.but many societies do not claim to have gender equality this statement is supported by several reasons,Firstly some people assume that women should stay at home do homechores and should not be allowed to leave without permission, secondly peple think that women do not have any right for education and they should know the things that will help them work in kitchen or at home, moreover they perceive that women can not earn as much as men. These kind of thoughts and assumptions leads towards controversies and mishap in society.
Due to this corrupt mindset we are facing many complications such as single mothers or single women are not able to survive because they didnot have acces to education and learning and now they do not know how to work in this era of advanced technology. Only if they were well educated and aware of how to live a better life they can help their children as well by being a good parent. Even in some of the giant companies they offer low salaries to woman just to illustrate the difference between men and women, this is the biggest example of injustice. But now women are getting there rights after many years of consistency in raising voice for their rights and after many awareness campaigns.
In conclusion, Women also have rights to live freely like men and they should be aware of their rights because an educated woman can shape society better just like an educated man. They both have rights over education and earning and we should normalise gender equality in our society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by expressing a clear position that gender equality has not yet been achieved, supported by relevant ideas such as traditional views, educational barriers, and wage disparities. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack extension. For instance, the mention of giant companies offering low salaries to women is introduced as an example of injustice, but it is not fully explored with specific consequences or further explanation. Similarly, the points regarding traditional assumptions are listed quickly without deep elaboration. The overall argument is relevant and directly addresses the prompt, but it requires greater depth and more fully developed supporting points to move to a higher level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates some organisation with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, establishing an overall coherent arrangement. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesion. Transition devices are sometimes inadequate or overused, such as starting multiple sentences and clauses with 'However' or repetitive connectors like 'firstly' and 'secondly' without smooth links. Additionally, referencing is not always clear, as seen in pronoun ambiguity where pronouns like 'they' occasionally lack clear antecedents. Paragraphing is attempted, but paragraph boundaries and internal logical flow could be managed much more skillfully to guide the reader effortlessly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing a minimally sufficient range to discuss the topic of gender equality. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'controversies', 'mismatch', and 'awareness campaigns', but these attempts are occasionally marred by inaccuracy in word choice or collocation, such as using 'mishap' instead of 'misfortune' or 'conflict'. There are also some minor spelling and word-choice errors that do not impede overall communication, such as 'didnot' and 'acces'. To reach a higher level, the vocabulary needs to show greater precision, flexibility, and a more sophisticated control of less common lexical items and appropriate collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures like conditional clauses ('Only if they were well educated... they can help...'). However, these attempts at complex structures are often faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. There are notable issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'Women has gained' and 'present day women has acquired', as well as missing articles and punctuation errors. These frequent errors in basic grammatical patterns and agreement can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, though they rarely completely impede communication. A greater range of error-free complex sentences and stricter control over basic grammatical rules are needed to improve this criterion.
