Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern time, womens have contributed a lot to the society. However, in many part of the world, womens contributions are not recognised. Hence, gender bias mentality still exists. I support the arguement because, hierarchy still exisits in many societies and womens contributions are not praised.
To begin with, women in urban areas are now seen as equal to men but in many rural areas and other regions hierarchy still exists. These problems has lead to decline in potential growth of women in certain region. It has cause many women to not live up to their potential, hence it lead to brain drain. This can be resolve with the efforts made by authorities like, running a campaing to raise awarness about gender equality and its importance to the society. For instance, in my country's villages girls are less encouraged to go to school and wedding in early age is also a major problem there. So in region like these government should spread awareness to let girls study and enforce extreme law for early age marriage.
Furthermore, in many industries womens are performing extra ordinary over the past decades. There are many examples to it, such as Kalpana Chawla in space field and in many companies CEOs position is held by women. Even after dominating in these many industries, in many regions of the world women's contribution is not recognised and appreciated.
In Conclusion, I agree, women are seen as equaly important as men in many societies over past few decades, however in some regions still traditional thinking is held. It has limit the growth of women in those regions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on gender equality and discussing both traditional barriers and modern achievements. The ideas presented are relevant, but some aspects are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion on rural challenges and early marriage is extended with a specific example from the writer's country, showing elements of a higher band. However, other points, such as the mention of Kalpana Chawla, remain somewhat brief and under-developed without sufficient elaboration to fully support the argument. The overall progression of ideas is clear and maintains a consistent stance throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas from introduction to conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as rural challenges versus industrial achievements. Cohesive devices are employed, including transition markers like 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In Conclusion', though some referencing and linking are slightly mechanical. For example, sentences within the second paragraph could be connected more smoothly to avoid a repetitive structure. Pronoun referencing is generally clear, guiding the reader effectively through the writer's arguments regarding gender inequality.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas about gender roles and societal hierarchy. There are successful attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'hierarchy', 'potential growth', and 'brain drain'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'womens' instead of 'women's', 'arguement' instead of 'argument', 'campaing' instead of 'campaign', 'awarness' instead of 'awareness', and 'equaly' instead of 'equally'. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded, and the range of vocabulary satisfies the requirements of this level while showing potential for more precise lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional clauses and relative clauses. There are several grammatical errors present, particularly in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'womens have contributed', 'these problems has lead', 'It has cause', and 'in region like these'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, and while these errors occur throughout the text, they rarely impede communication. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences and exercise better control over plurals, verb tenses, and grammatical patterns.
