Student answer (Band 6.0)
There has been a noticable change in the status of women that they used to have in a society. Over the extent of 50 years, while women held the position, societies still deny the fact to have achieved gender equality. I partially agree about the independence that came through the position they held, however, gender equality still needs attention.
Over the expanse of years, when compared to the history, women held less power to take decisions for their wellbeing. It was women who sacrificed their career, were forced to be a homemaker and were dependent on her husband or family for her needs. However, in present, as the circumstances have changed, women earn for herself and doesn't have to rely on any one. To set a clear example, women these days are excelling in male dominated areas whether be it work or taking financial decisions. Morever, they don't merelt accept or agree to a decision without understanding the underlying facts and risks associated.
Consequently, societies still lack the confirmation of gender equality associated with the freedom they get. Females, in terms of house responsibilities or changes, are supposed to get acceptance from their husbands or their father-in-law. In work culture too, these decisions are addressed to a higher male supervisor. These decisions are effective when a supposedly higher male authority approves it. It is quite prominent and accepted in society.
In conclusion, I believe that women have eventually achieved a position where she can take her own decisions, though, these are supposed to be backed up by a male authority. In a matter of fact, these claimed statements still deny women the complete fairness with repect to gender equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position that you partially agree with the statement. You explore both sides by discussing how women have gained independence and financial freedom over the past 50 years, while also arguing that underlying societal structures still require male approval. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, your points about women excelling in male-dominated areas are relevant, but the supporting explanation in the second body paragraph remains somewhat general and lacks specific real-world examples. To reach a higher band, you need to extend and fully support all your main ideas with more detailed elaboration and precise examples throughout the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from introduction to conclusion. You effectively divide your response into logical paragraphs, beginning with a clear stance, moving through societal changes and lingering limitations, and finishing with a summary. Furthermore, you make use of cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Consequently', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts together. To move towards the highest bands and achieve fully flexible cohesion, ensure that referencing is always crystal clear—avoiding slight ambiguities such as pronoun shifts between singular and plural forms—and integrate cohesive devices even more naturally so that their mechanical use is minimized.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'noticable change', 'financial decisions', and 'male dominated areas'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as writing 'noticable' instead of 'noticeable', 'Over the extent of 50 years' instead of 'Over the span of 50 years', 'earn for herself' rather than 'earn for themselves', and 'merelt' instead of 'merely'. These vocabulary and spelling errors do not impede communication, placing your lexical control securely at this level. To improve, you should refine your control of collocations and expand your repertoire of precise, academic terminology without relying on inaccurate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your essay employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as in 'women held less power to take decisions for their wellbeing'. You show adequate control over basic structures, and some errors in grammar and punctuation rarely impede communication. Nevertheless, there are persistent errors in grammatical patterns, pronoun-antecedent agreement, and articles—for instance, 'women held the position' lacking a clear antecedent, 'in present' instead of 'at present', 'does not have to rely on any one', and mixing plural subjects with singular pronouns ('women... where she can take her own decisions'). To reach the next level, you need to increase your stock of error-free complex sentences and eliminate these frequent slips in agreement and preposition usage.
