Student answer (Band 5.5)

Throughout the past 50 years womens' position has changed a massive deal in many societies. However the number is still very less compared to men, thus these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. I personally agree with that.

In current time, the trend of equility between men and women has become a moot point. In some developed countries women are working matching the shoulder with men. In many fields women has proven that they are also capable and equal to man. For example, In hospital as a health care specialists, In business, In public safety- police officer or even millatary. However, the number is still very least vis-a`-vis men.

In addition, There are so many other fields - phisical work: construction site, oil extraction field, ; ; Durt works :drain cleaning, plumbing which is still handled by men. There are less than 5 percent of women in these kind of jobs. So, If we see practically women has made the great position in working fields but still it is nothing compared to mens contribution throughout the working fields.

In my opinion, ofcourse equility is very important in the societies and also women has proved their capability in many fields but still there is a long way to go.

To conclude, Over past 50 years in many societies women has acquired many positions and make a great deal in work fields but still it too low. There are so many fields which demands high physical strength and capability which is still lack in women. Thus the gender equality is cannot be claimed by the societies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially, stating a clear position of agreement, but the ideas are limited and under-developed. While the student attempts to cover both traditional roles and modern employment sectors, the arguments rely heavily on repetitive claims regarding the number of women in various jobs, such as 'In hospital as a health care specialists, In business, In public safety- police officer or even millatary.' This leads to over-generalisation and a lack of fully explored extension for the main points. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to present well-developed ideas with deeper explanations and concrete examples rather than listing professions with superficial commentary. Note that 9 words copied directly from the prompt were excluded from the official word count, but the response still met the minimum length requirement overall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation present in the response, but it lacks a clear overall progression from paragraph to paragraph. The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is positive, but the logical flow is disrupted by repetitive phrasing and disjointed transitions like 'In addition,' and 'To conclude,'. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'However the number is still very less'. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure that ideas transition smoothly with logical relationships clearly signaled, and that paragraphing is used to build a cohesive, step-by-step argument rather than circling back to the same points repeatedly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'moot point' and 'vis-a-vis', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, including 'womens' position', 'very less', 'equility', 'millatary', 'phisical work', and 'Durt works'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the vocabulary from feeling precise or flexible. To improve in lexical resource, the student should focus on accurate word formation, standard spelling conventions, and natural collocations, expanding their range of functional vocabulary to express ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammatical agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation, such as 'women has proven' (subject-verb agreement), 'women has made the great position', and fragmented sentence structures like 'oil extraction field, ; ; Durt works :drain cleaning'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To reach the next band, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex sentences and exercise better control over basic grammatical patterns, tense consistency, and punctuation.
