Student answer (Band 5.5)

women have gained too many achievement since past 50 years. But society can not see it as gender equality. I Strongly agree with the statement that even after achieving things women are not seen as successful in society.

Firstly, On todays time when women are even flying planes, being a good driver, people still thinks that these works are not women's cup of tea. On many places or community parents marry their daughter as soon as they hit the marriage age because of that they do not get the chance to do things they want to. Some people do not wait for the right marriage age and they marry their daughter as soon as they get a good match.

secondly, Some people still think that doing household work is only female's duty and male should not contribute in household chores as they earn money. However, If a woman is working people still expect her to do household chores after she return from office. after contribution in all relevant fields people do not count her contribution as a asset and do not want to accept that she can do everything like the other gender and sometimes better. some parents do not allow their daughter to work or go outside to do something and want her to master in cooking and other works in kitchen.

In conclusion, despite the significant progress women have made in past 50 years gender equality has not yet achieved by them as they have face discrimination and unequal expectation by society. if society start appreciating women it can be easy for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that progress has not produced gender equality, and the examples about early marriage, household duties and restrictions on women’s work are relevant. However, the response only partly develops the task. It mainly describes discrimination and gives broad claims, such as people not accepting women’s abilities, without explaining how these examples demonstrate the gap between progress over the past 50 years and equality today. The opening also shifts from the prompt’s focus on societies’ achievements to whether women are seen as successful. Develop each main point with a specific example or explanation, and address both the changes women have made and the inequalities that remain. This would make the argument more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. The examples are generally grouped by topic, with household expectations forming a central idea in the second paragraph. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first moves from women flying planes and driving to parental decisions about marriage without explaining the connection. Linking phrases such as “However” and “In conclusion” help, but some transitions feel mechanical, and the long second paragraph contains several ideas that would benefit from clearer sequencing. Use topic sentences to state each paragraph’s main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “gender equality,” “discrimination,” “household chores,” and “contribution,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. For example, “women have gained too many achievement” does not express progress clearly, and “not women's cup of tea” is an informal idiom that is awkward in this academic argument. “Unequal expectation” also needs a more natural form. Aim for precise, formal phrases and check whether words commonly occur together. Vary repeated terms such as “people” and “do not,” while keeping the vocabulary straightforward and accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast with “However” and a concluding clause beginning “despite.” Nevertheless, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation. Examples include “women have gained too many achievement,” “people still thinks,” and “after she return from office.” Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “On todays time” and “if society start.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
