Student answer (Band 5.5)
The social status of females has changed a lot in the past five decades in multiple societies. However, most of them still have difficulties striking a balance between both genders. In the following essay, I'll first discuss my highly-agreeing perspective before introducing what these societies have achieved. Changed a lot doesn't mean achieved equality. Consider a society with males having 80% of the social wealth and females having merely 20% changed its social structure a lot, making males' social wealth decreased from 80% to 70% and females' increased relatively. It did changed a lot, but with such low initial point, it still remains inbalanced. However, that does not mean these changes are worthless. Imagine a society where women faced immense financial barrier for a long period. After decades of demanding and pursueing, they can finally make their own living without being foribidden to. For another example, consider a society that has an environment of discriminating women for long time. Although women finally and successfully achieved an environment with no discrimination, they still have multiple gaps in aspects of their lifes with males. Overall, although women done a lot in order to compensate the differences and difficulties they encountered in their society, striking a balance between genders still remains a goal they need to work hard for. No matter which society we belong to, making our society balanced to everyone no matter which gender we are, remains an important task to do. Hoping everyone can be treated equally in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that social change has not yet produced gender equality. You address both sides of the statement by explaining that progress can be meaningful while still falling short of equality, and your examples about wealth distribution and women’s financial independence are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. The hypothetical wealth figures illustrate change, but the link to real inequalities could be made more explicit; similarly, the example of discrimination does not identify the remaining gaps. Develop these examples with specific areas such as pay, leadership, or unpaid care, and explain how they support your view. This would make the response more fully developed and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an identifiable opening, a sequence of examples, and a concluding statement, so the reader can follow its general direction. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the introduction promises to discuss your agreement and then “what these societies have achieved,” but the body does not clearly separate those two aspects. The examples are crowded into one paragraph, and the abrupt sentence “Changed a lot doesn't mean achieved equality” interrupts the flow. Linking phrases such as “For another example” help signal a new point, but the overall organisation remains repetitive and some references, such as “they” and “these societies,” could be more precise. Use distinct paragraphs for your argument and examples, and connect each example explicitly to the main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “social status,” “social structure,” “financial barrier,” and “discrimination,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “striking a balance between genders.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “highly-agreeing perspective,” “social wealth,” and “an environment of discriminating women.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “pursueing,” “foribidden,” and “lifes” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more conventional academic expressions and check spelling carefully. A more precise vocabulary range would help you express the distinctions in your argument without relying on repeated general terms such as “society” and “changes.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a conditional example (“Consider a society with males having…”) and a concessive structure beginning “Although women finally…”. These show some range, and the main argument remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “It did changed” should be “It did change,” while “women done a lot” needs a present-perfect form such as “women have done a lot.” The phrase “for long time” needs an article, and “genders still remains” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The final sentence, “Hoping everyone can be treated equally,” is a fragment. Review verb forms, agreement, articles, and complete sentence construction, while continuing to use complex structures.
