Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the past half century, the status of women has become a subject of considerable debade. While some areas of the world believe that the women's position has significantly improved over the past years, however these societies have not truely achieved equality between men and women. This essay will discuss the main aspects of this issue and explain why I believe that women in most parts of the world have achieved equality.
To begin with, there are several reason why eqality between men and women is important. One of the main reason is that if we compare women from past 50 years and now we can see that almost all the professions have women the ratio has been increasing day by day. This means that equality gap has reduced over the years and this inequality will be completely reduced over the coming years. Furthermore we have seen in around the world there are more and more female leaders arising in many different countries this also proves that gender equality has been truely achieved in the societies as the most powerful jobs now also belong to women. For example, few years back there was ban on women driving cars in Saudi Arabia but now as the world progesses that ban has been removed women can freely drive cars and move as they wish without depending on any men. Therefore, it is clear that with time true gender equality will be achieved.
On the other hand, It is also important to consider that, still many countries around the world have defferent views on the gender equality. They believe that women and men are different both physically and mentally. This is maily because there are certain jobs which women can't do physically such as construction work in extreme environments like oil rigs in the ocean and commercial fishing jobs. This is why there are also devisions in the sportsas men and women are not equal physically. Even in the chess tournaments the women grandmaster is different rank and men grandmaster is different rank. Nevertheless, I believe that there are some areas where women are different then men that doen't mean that they are not equal.
In conclusion, the women and men have come a long way and the gender inequality is reduced over the years. Altough there are still some parts of the world where women face inequality, i believe that compared to the past the mority of the world has given rights to women equaly now. Ultimately it is also on one's perspective in viewing both gender's capabilities some believe that men and women are equal both physically and mently and others believe that women are not equal in

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a view that women have gained rights and opportunities, using female leaders and the change in Saudi Arabia’s driving laws as relevant examples. However, your position is not consistently clear: the introduction says equality has not been achieved, while it then states that women “have achieved equality,” and the conclusion shifts to saying equality has improved but remains incomplete. The discussion also focuses partly on why equality matters and on physical differences, rather than directly assessing whether societies can claim to have achieved equality. Several claims, such as equality being “completely reduced” in future, are asserted rather than supported. State your degree of agreement clearly and develop a few relevant reasons with specific evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” helps identify the sections. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the first body paragraph argues that equality has been achieved, while the second introduces differences without clearly connecting them to the question of social equality. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “Furthermore we have seen…” and “This is why…”. The final sentence is unfinished, which leaves the conclusion without a complete closing idea. Organise each paragraph around one clear reason, use references that make the relationship between ideas explicit, and ensure the conclusion completes the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “female leaders,” “inequality” and “commercial fishing,” and some phrases communicate the subject clearly. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “debade,” “truely,” “defferent,” “devisions” and “mority.” Some collocations are also awkward, such as “the women’s position” and “the most powerful jobs now also belong to women.” Repetition of “equality,” “women” and “men” further limits flexibility. Build a more precise range for discussing equal rights and opportunities, and check spelling and natural word partnerships. For example, “women’s position” could be expressed as “women’s status,” and “the ratio has been increasing” needs a clearer description of women’s representation in professions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “if we compare…” and “This is mainly because…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “there are several reason” and “the most powerful jobs…belong,” missing or incorrect articles and plurals in “there was ban,” and sentence-boundary and punctuation problems in “Furthermore we have seen… this also proves…”. The final sentence is incomplete, and the opening uses conflicting connectors in “While…, however…”. Practise accurate agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and complete clauses. Shorter, carefully controlled sentences would help you express your ideas clearly while you develop more varied structures.
