Student answer (Band 6.0)
Over the past few decades, the role of women has changed significantly and they have gained a number of opportunities and importance. Although they have acquired a greater position but gender equality is not fully achieved and i agree with this situation as alot of women face discrimination in different areas.
To commence with, in the growing society, women have gained a position in different fields particularly medicine, engineering, corporate and teaching and this has made women independent. In this age and day, more people are concerned about the educating females as they were in the past. Moreover, women are now seen in every field and have acquired greater roles. For instance, there is significant number of female doctors in hospitals. Similarly, in engineering field they are great engineers.
On the other hand, it is still challenging for women to acquire gender equality. Although serving different positions, females struggle for equality. For instance, in the past or in the rural areas females hardship to study as the families are mainly concerned about educating males. As a result, a less number of females attend schools. Furthermore, the females got married at very early age because people think that their only role is to serve their family by taking care of them.
To conclude, despite serving their nation in different fields women still face hardships in gaining gender equality. I agree that women should be given same roles as men. Government and socities should provide equal opportunities to women and there should be no gender discrimination.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that women’s roles have advanced but gender equality has not been achieved. You address both sides of this contrast, mentioning women’s participation in professions and continuing barriers such as restricted education and early marriage. These examples are relevant, but some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the reference to female doctors and engineers shows increased participation, but does not explain how this demonstrates changed status or whether opportunities are equal. The discussion of rural education and early marriage is more specific, yet would benefit from a clearer link to present-day inequality and further support. Develop each main point with explanation or a concrete example, and make the extent of your agreement more explicit in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have identifiable purposes, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, with several sentences beginning “Moreover,” “For instance,” or “Furthermore,” without developing the connection between ideas. The shift from women’s professional roles to education and early marriage is understandable but could be linked more explicitly to the central claim about equality. Use referencing and transitions more flexibly, and organise each paragraph around a clear claim followed by explanation and evidence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “discrimination,” “independent,” “gender equality,” and “opportunities,” so the main ideas are communicated. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “acquired a greater position.” However, several choices are unnatural or imprecise: “in the growing society,” “in this age and day,” and “serving different positions” do not express the intended meanings naturally. “A less number” and “females hardship” also show problems with word form or collocation. These issues make the vocabulary less flexible and precise than it needs to be, although the overall message remains clear. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships—for example, “hold positions,” “face hardship,” and “a smaller number”—and avoid repeating broad terms such as “women” and “fields” when a precise alternative is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although they have acquired a greater position…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in longer constructions. For example, “Although serving different positions, females struggle” lacks a clear subject for the opening phrase, while “females hardship to study” is missing a verb. There are also issues with articles and agreement in “there is significant number” and “a less number of females attend.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly the lowercase “i” and the run-on structure in the opening sentence. To improve, check each sentence for a complete subject and verb, and review articles, plural forms, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
