Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the present time the position of women has changed substantially in many socities when compared to the last 5 decades. But there are claims in socities that they haven't achieved gender equality. I believe the postion of women has improved dramatically when compared to the past because women of that decade were forced to take up remain in their homes and carry out household chores and take care of children. Meanwhile in the present women are encouraged towards to work in any field of their choice like; doctor, scientist and police etc. In the further essay i will discus both point of view along with my own opinion supprorting that gender equlity has been attained with a logical conclusion.
In the past 50 years women were forced to take care of their home and childrens where the husband would work outside to earn money. Women would work free of cost and took care of the household chores and upbring their offsprings. Furthermore, after certain time men started treating women badly and questioned them often about their role and this boost confidence in men and made them feel superior for financially supporting the home. For instance, women were questioned about their financial involment and made feel inferior and were asked to remain slient and important decision were taken by men.
In the recent times the trend has shifted where parents are promoting and encouraging their children towards education for their better future furthermore working in any field of their desire. The postion of women has drastically changed we can find women in all fields like police, science and construction buildingsin addition they are equally carrying out job responsibilties and competeing with men for same roles. going to space and take up any roles they want. For instance, women have made a huge impact in space travel and are equally taking jobs.
In conclusion i believe that the women of last 5 decades suffered due to gender inequality but the situations have changed in the recent times where women are working and competing equally with men.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that women’s position has improved, and the examples about education, employment and space travel are relevant to the topic. However, the task asks whether societies have achieved gender equality, while your introduction says you will support the claim that equality “has been attained”; the body and conclusion mainly describe progress rather than directly judging whether equality is complete. This makes your response only partially address the central question, and the position is not consistently clear. The historical paragraph offers some explanation of women’s former domestic roles, but claims about men’s behaviour and women’s current opportunities are broad and need specific support. State clearly that progress has occurred but equality remains incomplete, then develop reasons such as pay, leadership or unequal care responsibilities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has a recognisable essay structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly move from women’s past roles to more recent opportunities, which gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the conclusion repeats the idea of change without resolving the question of whether equality has been achieved. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “For instance” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly show how the example supports the point. The long introduction also announces that you will discuss “both point of view,” although the essay does not clearly develop two contrasting positions. Organise each body paragraph around one claim, explain it, and connect the example directly to the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “household chores,” “financially supporting” and “space travel,” and the reader can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “position of women,” “field” and “women.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “socities,” “postion,” “supprorting” and “slient,” which reduce accuracy and can interrupt reading. Some expressions are awkward or imprecise, including “promoting and encouraging their children towards education” and “competeing with men for same roles.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing equality, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, distinguish between increased opportunities and equality in outcomes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses introduced by “because,” “where” and “while,” so there is some variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “women were forced to take up remain in their homes” combines incompatible verb forms, while “women have made a huge impact … and are equally taking jobs” has an unclear structure. There are also recurring problems with articles, plurals, agreement and punctuation, as in “same roles” and the run-on sequence beginning “The position of women has drastically changed.” Use shorter, complete sentences when needed, and check that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb. Review articles and plural forms as part of proofreading.
