Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary world, many people believe that nowadays womens had changed their positions whereas others think that they cannot claim to have gender quality. I partly agree with this statement.
To start with, there are many aspects in which women have changed their positions, firstly, education system has increased dramtically. It is mandatory for boys and girls to go school till 10th standard to gain basic knowledge. With this change women also have opportunities to do any business or job. Secondly, if women are educated they also have freedom they do not hestitate to communicate with anyone and can go alone anywhere.
However, in amny villages still women do not have right to go out for work and they are dependent on their husbands or family. The society do discrimination with girls and give opportunity to males only. In many backward areas, girls do only household chores and they are consider as burden on family. As all know that dowry is a crime while in many regions, it is given as gift because they do not have knowledge of this.
To conclude, it is important to be educated whether it is a girl or boy and everyone has equal right to do any job or business and live their own life as they want.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, though qualified, position in “I partly agree,” and you address both progress and continuing inequality. The examples about access to education and women’s restrictions in some villages are relevant, as are your points about household work and dowry. However, the discussion is only partial: the education point is asserted rather than supported with a specific example, and the response does not explain clearly why these changes still fall short of gender equality across society. The conclusion mainly repeats the need for equal rights instead of drawing together your reasons. The response is also 35 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Extend each main point with explanation or a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about changes, a contrasting paragraph about continuing discrimination, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To start with,” “However,” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in long sequences rather than developed in a logical order. For example, the education point moves quickly from compulsory schooling to business opportunities and personal freedom without explaining the links. The repeated use of “firstly,” “Secondly,” and “As all know” can feel mechanical, while “this statement” and “this change” do not always refer precisely to a specific idea. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “opportunities,” “discrimination,” “household chores,” and “dowry,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. For instance, “gender quality” appears to mean “gender equality,” “women have changed their positions” is unclear, and “the society do discrimination” is not a natural expression. There are also spelling errors such as “dramtically,” “hestitate,” and “amny.” Aim to learn topic-specific phrases in context and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help distinguish changes in women’s status from the continuing barriers you describe.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if women are educated” and a contrast introduced by “while.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “nowadays womens had changed,” “It is mandatory for boys and girls to go school,” and “they are consider as burden,” where verb forms, articles, or sentence construction are inaccurate. In “they do not have right,” the article is missing, and “everyone has equal right” also needs more accurate noun phrasing. Some sentences run together, particularly the sentence about education, freedom, and going anywhere. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then check verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation.
