Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is a debatable topic whether women in society have achieved a significant place or there is still a scope of improvement which restricts a society to completely achieve gender equality. I strongly agree about the fact that most of the societies are apprehensive about women being dominant in certain fields and are not completely gender equal in all aspects including household chores, career and even education.
On one hand, societies have evolved people have experienced mindset shift which resulted in people to realise the fact that women are capable of doing tasks which were later only done by the other gender. Women are seen in every field of career nowadays such as pilot, police officers, doctors and politicians where before only men had the liberty to pursue such professions. For example, nowadays women mostly prefer having a female gynaecologist as a they feel a sense of comfort and less chances of being judged for health conditions.
On the other hand, it is observed that even after working in such fields there is an issue of less salary being payed to women compared to men and frequently looked down upon for not being present for their families. Women are also expected to do all household chores even after being financially independent but that distinct is not seen for men. A woman balancing with household chores and work life is considered bare minimum but if same actions are done by a male then they are praised for their hard work.
In conclusion, Even though the society is progressing and people are trying give equal rights to women but there is a lot of improvement needed to change the thinking of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that societies have not achieved gender equality, and the conclusion maintains this view. You address both progress and continuing inequality, with relevant examples such as women entering professions previously dominated by men, unequal pay, and expectations around household work. This covers the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the example about preferring a female gynaecologist illustrates comfort, but its connection to wider equality could be made clearer. The discussion of education is mentioned in the introduction but not developed later. To strengthen the response, explain the causes or consequences of the inequalities you identify and support each main point with a more specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression from social change to persistent inequality is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help orient the reader. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. However, the contrast markers feel somewhat mechanical, and the first body paragraph begins with several ideas joined together, making the progression less smooth. Some links between claims and examples also need to be clearer, particularly the connection between the gynaecologist example and gender equality. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, then connect supporting details explicitly rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “gender equality,” “financially independent,” “dominant,” and “mindset shift.” These choices allow you to express relevant ideas about work and domestic expectations. You also attempt more formal phrasing, but some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “a significant place,” “a scope of improvement,” and “less salary being payed.” “That distinct is not seen” is also unclear. These slips do not prevent the reader from understanding your main argument, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for established collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “pay gap” and “unequal expectations” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whether,” “where,” and “even after.” Most of the argument remains understandable, and the paragraph structure helps the reader follow your meaning. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening sentence lacks a clear connection between its clauses (“whether … or there is still…”), and “societies have evolved people have experienced mindset shift” needs clearer sentence boundaries and article use. There are also errors in “as a they feel,” “if same actions are done,” and the final sentence’s “trying give.” Review articles, verb patterns, and punctuation, especially when joining independent clauses. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make your reasoning clearer and more controlled.
