Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's modern era, the role of womens in society has entirely changed over the past 50 years.however, it is belived by some individuals that there are still some communities, which do not accept gender euality. While i largly agree with this view, which i am going to discuss in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there are several reasons why i think some communities have accept gender euality. The prime reason is that women has greater access to education. Nowadays more females work in professionals fields and leadership positions. As a result, women have become more financial indipendent and have freedom to make desicion. For example, now women can pursue careers in medicine, engineering, and business. Therefore, it is belived that gender euality exists.

On the other hand, the main cause behind why gender equality has not been accepted. Firstly, distribution of unequal wages between both groups. To explain it, in many firms females receive lower salaries than men for same work. Moreover, women have plethora of household responsiblities, such as daily chores and childcare, which normally mens do not take. In addition to it, there are limited job opportunities for women than men. For instance, in many business companies require men as CEO of the company because it is think that males are more physically and mentally strong.

In conclusion, although these days women have become more financially and personally strong, I assert that they are still behind as compared to men. In many workplaces women achieve less wages and chances for future progress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely agree that changes in women’s roles have not yet produced gender equality, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You address both progress and continuing inequality, using relevant points about education, employment, pay, domestic responsibilities and leadership. These examples make the response relevant to the question. However, the discussion of progress is not always aligned with the claim that equality has been achieved: the paragraph says some communities “have accept gender euality,” while its examples mainly show greater opportunity, not equal outcomes. The claim about limited job opportunities and the CEO example also need clearer explanation or support. Develop these points more fully and distinguish progress from genuine equality to make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from women’s gains to remaining disadvantages is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers see the stages of the argument. However, some links are mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Therefore, it is belived that gender euality exists” does not follow clearly from the examples of increased access and independence. The opening sentence of the second body paragraph is also a fragment, which interrupts the flow. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between claims, and connect examples explicitly to the main argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “leadership positions,” “financially independent,” “unequal wages,” “household responsibilities” and “childcare.” This allows you to discuss several aspects of gender inequality rather than relying only on general terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing less natural, such as “euality,” “indipendent” and “plethora of household responsiblities.” Some collocations are also awkward: “distribution of unequal wages” would be more naturally expressed as a pay gap, and “more financially and personally strong” is imprecise. Aim for accurate, natural combinations of words and proofread spelling carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “although” and “because.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence formation and agreement recur. For example, “women has greater access” should use a plural verb, while “some communities have accept” has an incorrect verb form. “The main cause behind why gender equality has not been accepted” is not a complete sentence, and the opening contains a run-on after “50 years.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly the lowercase “i” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make the argument easier to read.
