Student answer (Band 5.0)

With the passage of time, we have seen many changes in the society. many laws have been introduced by the goverment to strengthen the equality among the people of the society but still we can't acheive gender equality. Women still have to face many problems and have to adjust alot to live in this society.

The government has taken certain measures to remove this inequality like -lauched many movemnts "Beti bachao, Beti padhao" , "Save Girl Child" etc , launched many schemes to provide free education and created many jobs for women to work. Despite of all these women still have to face many problems like - they have to ask their husband or father to go out of the house , they are forced to spend their whole day either in the kitchen or laundry ,they are not involved in decision making process and small girl children are not allowed to go out for playing. Many families think that a girl has only two jobs - one is to make food for the family and second is to take care of the child. A woman also had a right of freedom, speech and many other rights. A woman is also capable to run a business on their own. Education is open for all , both girl and boy have equal right on education. In the history, we can see many women who have fought for their rights like - Rani Lakshmibai, Pandita Ramabai and many more. Savitribai Phule was the first women who fought for women education .

The government should give more efforts for achieving gender equality in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a relevant position: despite government initiatives and changes in education and employment, women still face inequality. Examples such as restrictions on going out, exclusion from family decisions, and expectations around cooking and childcare support this view. However, the response only partly develops the question. It gives little direct comparison between how women’s position has changed over the past 50 years and why this progress falls short of equality. The final sentence calls for more government effort but does not explain which changes would address the problems described. Develop a clear argument about both progress and remaining inequalities, and explain how each example demonstrates the extent of the gap.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall shape: an introduction, a longer paragraph containing examples, and a brief conclusion. The ideas are generally related to gender equality, and phrases such as “Despite of all these” attempt to show contrast. However, there is little clear progression within the main paragraph: government schemes, restrictions on women, rights, and historical figures are listed without being grouped into a developing argument. Several transitions are awkward or repetitive, including repeated use of “like” to introduce examples. The conclusion also arrives abruptly. Organise the body into focused paragraphs—for example, progress in education and work, followed by continuing social restrictions—and use clear links to show how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “gender equality,” “decision making process,” “free education,” and “women’s rights.” The examples also show an attempt to use specific terms rather than relying entirely on general language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “strengthen the equality,” “remove this inequality,” and “give more efforts.” Spelling errors, including “goverment,” “acheive,” and “movemnts,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of your meaning can be understood, and you attempt some longer sentences, particularly when describing the problems women face. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex sentences are often difficult to control. For example, “A woman also had a right of freedom, speech and many other rights” has an inconsistent tense and an unclear grammatical relationship between the listed rights. There are also recurring errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “both girl and boy have equal right,” and punctuation is often missing or misplaced around lists and clauses. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check verb tense, singular and plural forms, articles, and sentence boundaries.
