Student answer (Band 5.5)

The women are playing significant role in the society. Earlier, it was assuming that a man has all the rights. However, over the period of time women has got equal authorities. In Arabs, women treated very badly such as they burried women in their childhoods. They were so cruel in the past and they do not believe in gender equality. With the passage of time, the things convert into postivety.

I always prefer that, men and women both are the important part of the society. A man is responsible to protect her family and to fulfil their needs. While, a woman plays crucial role in the house. A lady not only responsible to look after the family but she potentially add values to grow their kids. That's why we usually hear this statement, "A literate mother is good not only for herself but for the whole family".

We just not only see the women in the houses but we can also witness them in the professional fields such as medical, engineering, agriculture, film and media and sports. Nowadays, they are showing their skills in each field and with that society is progressing by leaps and bounds.

In this modern era, we can still find few backward areas, where females are still treated as just a housewives and males consider themselves superior over them. They are very old school.

In the conclusion, we can not ignore the gender equality and both have similar rights in the societies. And that is the reason, the precentage of women is increasing in every practical area day-by-day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the broad topic and express support for equal rights, particularly in the conclusion: “both have similar rights.” The examples of women working in medicine, engineering, agriculture, media and sport are relevant. However, the response does not clearly answer the extent question: it does not state whether you agree or disagree with the claim that gender equality has not yet been achieved. Much of the discussion describes changing roles rather than evaluating continuing inequality, and the claim that women are “still treated as just a housewives” is not explained with a specific example or consequence. Develop a consistent position from the introduction and support it with focused evidence about areas where equality remains incomplete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from historical context to family roles, employment and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate these topics, and transitions such as “However,” “With the passage of time” and “In this modern era” signal changes in direction. However, the progression is not always clear: the paragraph about men protecting families and women caring for the home does not connect convincingly to the argument for equality. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “We just not only see” and “While,” at the start of a sentence. The conclusion also introduces a claim about increasing representation without drawing together the main points. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph explicitly to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “professional fields,” “superior” and “progressing by leaps and bounds,” which allows you to discuss social change. There is also an attempt to vary wording across the response. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “equal authorities,” “convert into postivety,” “add values” and “practical area.” Spelling errors, including “burried” and “precentage,” are noticeable. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing equality, such as equal opportunities, representation, discrimination and pay gaps, and check spelling and common word partnerships.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “However” and a relative clause in “areas, where females are still treated…”. Nevertheless, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns as well as in longer attempts. Examples include “women has got,” “women treated very badly,” “A lady not only responsible,” and “she potentially add values,” where agreement or required verb forms are missing or incorrect. Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic, as in “just a housewives” and “While, a woman…”. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete clauses before adding more complex structures.
