Student answer (Band 5.0)
During the past 50 years, the role of womens significantly transformed in many societies. However, in my countries gender equality is not achieved completely. In my opinion, there are many improvements that are needed in this sphere.
Firstly, in Subcontinents in the past womens are only linked to their homes only and their only duty is to work like a house -wife and mother. It is because the tradition and society thinks in such a way ony. But in the recent years womens role changed a lot now a days, womens work in every sector.
For example: Benazir bhutto is the first women Prime minister and she served for the betterment of her country and she work as a men also.
Secondly, in Europe from the past womens work as the mens do. There womens are free to get education and they are allowed to work in any sector they want and there is no such restriction for them.
For example: Womens work as lawyers, doctors from the past and they are free to do any thing that they want to do.
In todays, modern age there is no such limits for womens also they are alowed to do anything that they want womens are now in every field and every field in now a days, is incomplete without womens.
In my opinion, womens should have all the permissions to choose what is good for them and they are also allowed to do everything that they want and societies also need to respect there thoughts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a position that gender equality has not been fully achieved and refer to changes in women’s roles, including women’s participation in different sectors and Benazir Bhutto’s political career. These points are relevant, but the response only partially answers the question: it gives much more attention to changes over time than to why societies still cannot claim equality. The contrast between the Subcontinent and Europe is asserted broadly, without explaining specific remaining inequalities such as unequal pay, representation, or expectations at home. Your final view that women should have equal choices is clear, but it is not developed with reasons or examples. To strengthen the response, explain the continuing barriers and connect each example directly to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression is limited: the paragraphs mainly list claims and examples rather than building a connected explanation of why gender equality remains incomplete. Some links are unclear, such as the shift from women’s historical roles in the Subcontinent to the general claim about Europe. Repetition of “womens” and “they” also makes references less precise, while “In todays, modern age” repeats the idea of the present. Organise the body around distinct reasons for ongoing inequality and use clearer links between each reason and its example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “gender equality,” “tradition,” “education,” “Prime minister,” and “every sector.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, which sometimes makes the argument difficult to follow. For instance, “work as a men” does not clearly express the intended comparison, and “all the permissions” is an unnatural way to describe women’s rights or opportunities. There are also recurring spelling and word-form problems, including “womens,” “ony,” and “alowed.” Aim to use precise terms for the inequalities you discuss, and check spelling and common collocations. The suggestions below offer more natural alternatives drawn from your response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using connectors such as “However,” “Firstly,” and “because,” and your main meaning is generally understandable. Nevertheless, the range of sentence patterns is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “the role of womens significantly transformed” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, while “the tradition and society thinks” has a subject–verb agreement problem. “In the past womens are only linked” also mixes time references, and the long sentence beginning “In todays, modern age” runs several ideas together without clear punctuation. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and build longer sentences around one clear main clause, checking agreement and punctuation.
